Target Audience
• The target audience are twelve to nineteen year olds (Hartley seven
subjectivities). Secondary schools have younger students as well as older
teenage students therefore this was a specific target audience. Teenagers of
that age will currently still be in education, therefore they will be able to
personally relate to the current affairs that are happening.
• Teenagers from all different nationalities (Hartley seven subjectivities) will
be targeted. ‘The Academy’ trailer will include students from all
nationalities.
• Teachers also appear in the trailer, therefore those who are a teacher in real
life will be able to relate to them as they have the same job. According to
‘personal identification’ (Katz) they can see and take a like to a character
that could be similar to them.
• This image shows portrays the current issues that are happening in schools,
you always have the ‘cool kids’ who act different to everyone else. Younger
kids who want to be ‘survivors’ according to (Katz) will want to watch the
show as they want to see how people stand up to these ‘cool kids’.
