My target audience will primarily be male football fans, as a survey found 85% of Premier League fans were male. While 11% of fans were aged 16-24 in 2007/2008, the average age is now 41. To promote the football film, advertising during football TV programs and near stadiums using billboards would be effective strategies since they directly reach this intended audience of football fans.

My film will be a football film so it is easy to identify that my target audience
will be football fans.
In a survey
conducted by the
Premier League,
which asked 34,827
fans of various
Barclays Premier
League teams in the
2007/2008 season,
the gender of fans
was collected as
data. This is shown
in this graph. The
mean percentage of
male fans was 85%.
Therefore, my target audience will be mainly composed of males.
In the same year the Premier League announced that 11% of fans were aged
16-24 butthe average age of a Premier League fan was 41 in the 2014/2015
season.
To raise awareness for my film, advertising during football TV programmes
would be effective as it is being shown directly to my target audience – football
fans. Also, advertising using billboards or posters near football stadiums would
also be a good strategy due to the high footfall of football fans.
