Between 1895-1945, Taiwan was ruled by Japan as part of its imperial expansion, implementing Japanese education and conscripting Taiwanese to fight for Japan. Taiwan has been populated for an estimated 30,000 years, with early inhabitants shown through distinctive pottery and jadeware displaying cultural diversity.
