1. Twins Torn Apart After Drink Drive Arrest.
By Jonah Adshead, 28th November 2014.
The infamous ATL Twins, known for their roles in the blockbuster
film, Spring Breakers were caught up in a battle with New York police last
Saturday that saw them separated for 6 hours, the longest period they
have been apart in their lives.
Sidney and Thurman Sewell, both 28, had attended a party in New
York’s Soho and although way over the legal limit, Sidney Sewell decided
to drive their all white range rover.
A source who was at the party and witnessed the twins leaving said,
“They could hardly walk, let alone drive!”
Not long after setting off from the party to an unknown destination
the twins were pulled over and Sidney was found to be 3 times over the
drink drive limit and arrested.
Sources told reporters here at The Sun that Thurman was very
distressed that he was not going to be arrested too, as he had not been
driving. One police officer stated “he did everything he could to try and get
us to take him, never seen someone so eager to get canned!”
Police officers eventually got Thurman away from the scene of the
arrest and managed to drive Sidney to a local station where he was
detained. The bail was set and Thurman worked for six hours straight
making calls, selling things of his and his brothers to get together the
undisclosed amount. One close friend of the Twins from their hometown of
Atlanta who sent them some money said, “I’ve never seen Thurman so
upset, it was horrible, but it was nice seeing the amount of people who
came up to help out”.
Local New York restaurant and bar owner Paul Moor was one of the
many people happy to help get Sidney bailed. “The twins are great guys.
They’ve brought me a lot of business, this was the least I could do.”
Moor reportedly gave Thurman $1000 towards the bail of his
brother as him and the twins had struck up a friendship following the
twins visiting his bar frequently during their time in New York. “The twins
were great, they always came in with at least 6 stunning broads”, said
another regular at the bar, Death & Company.
One police officer who asked not to be named said she was “touched
and upset” at watching over Sidney while he was in custody seeing how
distressed he was without his brother. She also disclosed however, that
she thought “it is unnatural for a grown man to be that dependant on a
sibling, twin or not. They need to find some individuality and gain some
independence”.
When released Sidney would not give a statement but seemed
overjoyed to be back at the side of his brother.
A New York county Judge has since sentenced him to a $3000 fine
and 30 hours of community service.
