TABLE SKIRTING
Table skirts are a tablecloth linen
mainly used to conceal the
table's legs during events. They
are meant to make tables look
polished and elegant and
improve the overall presentation
of the event.

TABLE SKIRTING
BASIC STEPS OF
1. Decide on the design of the
table skirting.
The following must be taken into
consideration:
a. color of the skirting cloth;
b. design that fits the occasion;
c.availability of materials.
2.Prepare the needed
materials:
a. top cloth or base cloth
b. skirting cloth
c. thumbtacks
d. thimble
e. pins
3. Lay the top cloth on the table.
4. Fastened the cloth with
thumbtacks on the edge or
under the table while pulling the
cloth to straighten the surface of
the table.
5. Locate the center of
the table by laying
another cloth from the
corner to another. Fold the
laded cloth in to half to
determine the center.
6. Fastened the skirting
cloth using with pins
at the center with
middle half of it.
7.All sides of the table
should beequally skirted
and covered.
8.Apply your planned
designs.
Table skirting can be used at
home or in restaurants and
even in hotels. It is defined
as draping a table with a table
cloth in order to give the table
a formal and elegant look.

ACTUAL PERFORMANCE
Group Activity: It's SKIRTING TIME!
1. Each group is required to
skirt a table by following the
guidelines and steps properly.
2. The class will be divided into
three (2) groups.
3.Each group member will be
assigned to a task to contribute to
the over-all performance of the group.
4. Following the step-by-step
procedure, the group must be able to
skirt the table according to the
instruction found on the Performance
Task Sheet.
5. The application of skills
will be evaluated using a
Performance Task Sheet.
You will be given 30 minutes
to finish the Task.

AFTER THE PERFORMANCE TASK..
Arrange the following steps from the beginning to the
end. Label from 1-8. 1
indicates the first step and 8 indicates the last.
1.Fastened the skirting cloth using with pins at the center with middle half of it
2.Decide on the design of the table skirting
3. Prepare the materials needed
4. Apply your planned designs
5. All sides of the table should be equally skirted and covered
6. Lay the top cloth on the table
7. Fastened the cloth with thumbtacks on the edge or under the table while pulling
the cloth to straighten the surface of the table
8. Locate the center of the table by laying another cloth from the corner to
another. Fold the laded cloth in to half to determine the center.
