Banksy is an anonymous graffiti artist from Bristol, England whose true identity is unknown. He began doing graffiti in 1990 and uses stencils to create his politically and socially commentary artwork in public spaces. Some see Banksy's graffiti as vandalism since it is done without permission, while others view it as a form of art that raises awareness about important issues.

Stop and Think: An Essay on Street Artist Banksy
In the 1980’s street art began to explode with popularity in the art world. Street Art is
defined as any art on public or private property for public display, whether it be sanctioned or
not. Artists such as Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat sparked the public’s interest by
decorating New York subway stations and brick walls throughout the city. The legality of these
pieces on public spaces is questionable, but that is part of the mystique this type of art possesses.
Artists use their work to make social and political commentary for the public to see. Many of
Haring’s pieces focussed on the current events of his time; with subjects such as the AIDS
epidemic or the assasination of John Lennon. As time progresses, the legacy that artists like
Haring and Basquiat left can be seen heavily in today’s street art. Their legacy’s influence is
most apparent in the artist who has dominated street art since first coming on the scene in the
early 1990’s-- Banksy. The artist known as “Banksy” operates under the alias in order to keep
his true identity a secret. He has done pieces around the world with a variety of different topics,
all while preserving his identity from the public. Traces of Banksy’s predecessor’s style can be
seen in each one of his pieces.. Although his influences are apparent, Banksy is still undoubtedly
unique in what he does. He has produced some of the most recognizable art of the 21st century,
and has art pertaining to almost all major political and social events in the last 20 years. His
stencil work is uncanny and extraordinarily unique. In the following pages, I will dive deeper

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
How to Create Map Views in the Odoo 17 ERPCeline George

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. Who Is Banksy?
The simple answer is: no one really knows.
Banksy is an anonymous graffiti artist. That means he keeps his identity
hidden. He will not do media interviews, he won’t release his real name,
and he will not allow photos or copies of his artwork to be made
and sold.
3. What Is Graffiti?
Graffiti is writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed secretly
on a wall or other surface in a public place. It is generally considered to
be vandalism. Vandalism is a crime and vandals can be punished.
Vandalism is the deliberate destruction of belongings or property.
4. Banksy’s Beginnings
Banksy is originally from Bristol, England.
He was part of the Bristol underground art
scene, and he was inspired by the graffiti
artist called 3D.
Bansky first started working as a freehand
graffiti artist in 1990 and continued until
1994. He met a photographer called Steve
Lazarides, who began selling his art for
him. Steve then became Banksy’s agent,
which means he arranged exhibitions.
5. Voicing His Opinion
Banksy uses his art to give his opinion on events that are happening in
the world. He is known as a political activist. The graffiti he paints
shows what he thinks. The most common themes are his views on greed,
poverty, despair, the obsession with celebrities, the government and war.
Graffiti artists have a ‘tag’, which is like putting a signature on
their work.
6. Technique
Banksy uses stencils to create his artwork. He draws an outline onto card
or acetate sheets and then cuts the shapes out by hand. He then uses
spray paint on the stencil to create the graffiti.
Banksy has said that before he used stencils, he was very slow at
painting, so he often got caught or didn’t finish a piece at all.
Some graffiti artists think it is cheating to use stencils. They prefer to
paint freehand.
7. Mild Mild West, 1997
Mild Mild West was Banksy’s first large wall mural. It was painted in
Bristol.
8. Rat in London
This rat is holding a camera.
What message do you think Banksy is sending through this painting?
10. Shoreditch, London
What is Banksy saying in this painting?
What is he saying about the elderly and the young people in society?
11. Shop Till You Drop
Banksy has taken a famous saying and turned it into an amusing piece
of art.
What is he saying about how much shopping people do?
13. Chamber Maid in Hoxton, London
What do you think Banksy is saying about society and wealthy people,
through this piece of art?
14. What Do You Think?
Some people do not think Banksy’s graffiti is “art” but think it is
vandalism and shouldn’t be encouraged or praised. After all, he is
painting these murals on public walls without permission.
Some people think it will make others copy him and start painting on
areas around cities and towns where they are not allowed.
Then there are other people who say that Banksy is
making everyone aware of problems in the world and
that he should be allowed to ‘voice his opinion
through art’.
What do you think about Banksy’s graffiti?
