The study investigates the synthesis and optimization of IrO2 electrocatalysts using the Adams fusion method for solid polymer electrolyte electrolysers, revealing that the optimal conditions are a synthesis duration of 2 hours at 350°C. Characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, and XRD demonstrate that increasing temperature and duration enhance crystallinity and particle size, affecting electrocatalytic performance. The best performing IrO2 shows improved activity compared to commercial IrO2, highlighting the potential for cost-effective hydrogen production through optimized electrocatalysts.
