This document summarizes a meeting that took place from May 5-10, 2011 in Rijeka, Croatia. It was the third transnational meeting for the Comenius Partnership project between 2010 and 2012. The presentation was given by F. Mingozzi from Italy and provided information about the ITC resources and teacher skills at Liceo Scientifico Statale "Alessandro Antonelli" school in Novara, Italy. It showed that while the school had several computer labs and courses, many teachers still did not use technology regularly in the classroom.
Students take 4 ICT classes and 1 programming class per week, totaling 7 classes. The school has 3 computer labs with 30 desktop computers each, as well as a physics lab equipped with laptops, a video projector, and an interactive whiteboard. The interactive whiteboard allows for greater student participation and makes classes more dynamic. The school also uses an eLearning platform called AeL that provides online courses, simulations, and assessments to increase student motivation. While the labs help direct learning towards practical applications, some are outdated and insufficient for the number of teachers wanting to use them. There is also a risk that teachers and students may over-rely on technology without integrating it properly into the curriculum.
This document analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of using information and communication technology (ICT) in education. The strengths include ICT helping students learn using various sources and preparing them for the future. However, weaknesses exist such as ICT only being used for some subjects and not enough resources. Opportunities also exist to integrate ICT across all subjects and encourage cooperation between schools and businesses. Threats to the use of ICT include costs, training needs, potential damage, distractions, and safety issues.
This document outlines a framework for developing an ICT strategic plan. It includes sections on strategic analysis using tools like SWOT analysis, formulating vision, mission and strategic themes, strategic implementation through focus areas and programs, and project management. A sample ICT strategic plan development process is outlined involving business and ICT analysis, strategy formulation, implementation, and project initiation, proposal, team structure and costing. The goal is to assess the current ICT environment, identify gaps, and create an action plan to address gaps and support business goals through ICT programs and roadmaps.
The document outlines the steps for developing a strategic plan for a school. It discusses gathering data on the current state, developing a vision and goals, creating a plan with projects and timelines, implementing phases of the plan, and assessing impact and adjusting the plan as needed. Key aspects of strategic planning include collaboration, applying ideas across the curriculum, making data-driven decisions, and focusing on facilitating meaningful change to meet student needs through creativity and innovation.

27. Liceo Antonelli NOVARA Dear ...
I have mixed feelings about my time in Colorado but overall I
enjoyed myself. The landscape is superb and the children
were nice. We spent a lot of time hiking in the mountains.
That was wonderful.
On the other hand, the company was not brilliant. They did
not pay for my flight until six months after I got back from the
States. It was very hard work too. I only had five days off in
the entire two months I was there and as you are living in
the camp you never really get a break. The pay wasn't very
good but I didn't have to spend much. The accommodation
they provided was in old tents, but it was perfectly OK.
If you want to be in the mountains and you like being with
children, then you could do worse. Make sure they pay for
your air fare in advance.
Good luck with the application! Give me a ring if you want
any more information.
Best wishes… Carlo
