 WestCare’s mission is  WestCare devotes
    to empower our best collective
everyone whom we and individual efforts
come into contact to uplift the human
with to engage in a spirit by consistency
    process of healing, improving,
    growth and change, expanding and
    benefiting strengthening the
    themselves, their quality, efficacy and
    families, coworkers cost-effectiveness of
    and communities. everything we do.
 Excellence: Our first priority is to provide the highest
quality service to the people and community we serve.
We value and reward success & are committed to
continual improvement in all we do. We have the
willingness to succeed, and we have the means to
create and foster success for ourselves, our
  coworkers, and those we serve.
 Dedication: We are committed to doing what it takes to
get the job done ethically and efficiently. We are
committed to hard work. We are passionate about
what we do. We are compassionate with our coworkers
  and everyone we serve.
 Growth: We are committed to learning and continuous
improvement. We recognize that growth is a dynamic
process, not an event. We recognize that the key to
success is meeting our goals and building the resources
we need to fulfill our mission.
 Ethical Behavior: We value and expect integrity in every
aspect of our work and will accept nothing less.
 WestCare addresses a
  variety of at-risk
  populations
 Some include:
    › Men & women
      inpatient/outpatient
      drug and alcohol abuse
      programs. (short & long
      term)
    › Adolescent Outpatient

      parenting youth

o What’s significant
    about WestCare is that
    we work with just about
    every population. Most
    agencies focus on
    substance abuse, or
    foster care, or mental
    health, or veterans
    while WestCare does it
    all.
 Each program is unique
    and completely
    different and that is
    what I like most about
    the agency.
 I have had the pleasure of visiting quite a few
    of the programs.
 I was able to visit/shadow at the impatient and
outpatient facilities for both women and men,
SMART 2, San Joaquin Valley Veterans Project,
    OPTIONS, Substance Abuse Services
    Coordinating Agency (SASCA) Program ,
    Violent Heintz Education, Academy,YMAX and
    Alpha Zeta Phi.
 Through all the programs I have learned so
much. Each program, different and unique in its
own way, has exposed me to populations that I
    never thought about working with.
 I am currently interning for AZP which is a
transitional living program for pregnant and
  parenting (homeless) youth between the
  ages of 16-21.
 The young women are required to
  complete their education (high school
diploma or GED), be employed, or both.
 They also take part in parenting and basic
  life skills classes.
 Funded by the Administration for children and
    families, Runaway, homeless, youth services
    and Family and youth bureau.
 Life skills assessment  Health services
 Case management  Counseling
 Positive living skills  Budget & money
 Parenting skills management
 Substance abuse  Employment
  counseling assistance
 Child development  Mental health services

 They program holds up to 9
                                           young women at a time.
 This programs goal is to
  provide homeless young
  women with the necessary
  skills, resources and support
  to live independently while
  becoming self-sufficient.
 The AZP also seeks to
  provide pregnant and
  parenting young women
  with the support and
  assistance needed to
  ensure the health and well-
  being of their child,
  effectively parent and
  successfully maintain a
  household.
WestCare is the home for many different faces and continuously works to uplift the
human spirit.
