SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Prepared By Parth Thakkar
What is
Sustainable
Development?
◦ According to the UN, sustainable development “meets the
needs of the present without sacrificing/compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
The SDGs are...
A set of 17 goals for the world’s future, through 2030
Backed up by a set of 169 detailed Targets.
Negotiated over a two year period at the United Nations
Agreed to by nearly all the world’s nations, on 25 Sept 2015
What is new about SDGs?
◦ Universality : every nation… and every sector. Cities, businesses, schools,
organizations, all are challenged to act.
◦ Integration : Goals are all inter connected. We can’t just achieve just one goal.
We must achieve them all.
◦ Transformation : achieving these Goals involves making very big, fundamental
changes in how we live on Earth.

sustainable development goals.
◦ Those SDGs are...

involves promoting sustainable agricultural, supporting small-scale farmers
and equal access to land, technology and markets
#3 Good Health and Welbeing
◦ Natural farming improve health by providing pesticides residue free fruits and
vegetables.
#6 Clean Water and Sanitation
◦ Since natural farming does not allow any kind of chemical or pesticides, It helps
us to keep groud water and other freash water reserves chemical residues free.
#12 Responsible Consumption &
Production
◦The efficient management of our shared natural resources, and the way we dispose of
toxic waste and pollutants, are important targets to achieve this goal.
◦ Encouraging industries, businesses and consumers to recycle and reduce waste
is equally important, as is supporting developing countries to move towards more
sustainable patterns of consumption by 2030.
#15 Life On Land
