I. INTRODUCTION
A. Imagine a world where you get to choose the type of child that you bring into it. You could pick their hair color, height, personality, intelligence, and many other aspects. You would get to design your baby. Would this be good or bad?
B. If you have an opinion on this
, then you will be interested in the concept of designer babies.
C. I have read over ten articles on this topic and am well informed.
D. I am here to convince you that the creation of designer babies will be negative to our society.
E. If designer
babies become a reality, they will affect everyone. While there can be some positives to certain aspects of this technology, they do no outweigh the negatives. The idea of perfection is a major barrier that our society needs to overcome in order to get past the want to genetically design children.
II. BODY
A. In the near future we may have the genetic technology needed in order to change an embryo and choose desirable characteristics for it. If this becomes a reality, it will affect everyone.
1. The concept of creating a child with specific traits is not far-fetched. A procedure already being widely used is called IVF, which helps couples that have infertility problems have children by pre-selecting embryos before implantation. Another procedure called PGD screens embryos for different genetic traits before they are implanted and physicians can choose ones that are not predisposed to certain genetic conditions, like serious diseases such as cystic fibrosis (Ly, 2010).
2. A major issue with the concept of designer babies is the fact that it would be a very expensive process. This technology would only be available to wealthy “affluent couples and would be used in ways that could increase inequality. The last thing we need now is a genetic elite” (Steere, 2008, para. 8).
3. In addition, there are many ethical and moral issues that go along with all this. When doctors helped infertile women have children or when they determined if a child would have certain diseases, they were praised. 2) The survey asked adults questions about internet usage and had them search for active volcanoes. Most used Google and found the most active volcano in the US. They slightly favored less credible websites that had more visuals.
3) Using this inquiry with students would require simplifying searches and teaching credible research skills and plagiarism avoidance. Students may have more difficulty but it could help them learn benchmark internet skills.

He is known for his survival shows like "Man vs Wild" where he teaches survival techniques. One of his biggest achievements was climbing Mount Everest in 1998 at the young age of 23, making him one of the youngest to reach the summit.

- 1. SURVEY ABOUT EDUCATION IN THE FUTURE The topic of the survey was “Education in the future”. A group of twenty people did the survey and there´re a lot of different opinions. These are some of the results: Everyone thinks that humans will exist in two thousand years time, and lots of people have similar opinions about the world. Twelve people think the world will not be a good place in the future and others think that it will be good. More than half think we will not have to go to school because there will be online teachers. Everyone thinks there will not be any books because everybody will have e – books. The group has different opinions about global warming. Some think this has a solution because we will invent enough technology to solve this problem. And others think this hasn´t got a solution because we will use more cars so this will be a big problem. Overall, in this survey there are negative and positive opinions but we hope the world will be a better place in the future. Carla Cifra Sánchez.
