The domestic pig, Sus scrofa domesticus, can be found living on farms and in human settlements. Wild pigs are hardy animals that can adapt to various climates and habitats across continents except Antarctica. Pigs are quadrupeds with short legs, hooves, a heavy body, a flexible snout, and a short tail. They are omnivores that forage on leaves, grasses, roots, fruits, and flowers in the wild, and some pigs help find truffles using their highly developed sense of smell.
