This document provides guidelines for an effective elevator pitch or business presentation. It discusses several key points:
1) Investors primarily consider market focus, sustainability, and entrepreneur characteristics. An elevator pitch should engage the audience in 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
2) Effective presentations start strongly, maintain attention, and end with a vision. Rehearsal is important to ensure a smooth delivery that highlights the main message.
3) Connecting emotionally with the audience through confidence, questions, and memorable phrases is important. Presenting ideas with passion and engaging emotions can make a big difference.

Rhetorical Analysis of a Visual Text
Visual documents communicate through images or interaction of text and images. A rhetorical analysis of such hopes to unravel how communication is achieved in the rhetorical situation involving the audience, the context, the purpose of the message , the rhetorical appeals as well as use of color and text in the document. The document on analysis is the giant entertainment company Walt Disney Company logo. It is a corporation with theme parks for instance Disneyland and several hit movies to their name. Their logo has evolved overtime starting with their famous Cinderella castle with an Arcing line overhead in 1995 and to their most current one that aims to give a feel to real distinguishing features to the castle by including widows and balconies. The current logo serves to be more eye catching to the average viewer when in online or offline mode hence a wider audience. The earlier one (1995) appealed to the children with its sense of imagination and fantasy.
Disney uses geographic demographic which refers to part of a country, the market density and/or size, a region of the world or the climate; to locate their target market. They apply this knowledge in making decisions such as where to locate their theme parks (Disney World and Disney Land). Some of their selected locations are in the United States, Japan and Europe among others, which are part of the most visited places. They use demographic segmentation which includes gender, age, income or even ethnic background which helps them determine which place are the best to place their chain stores and which are the best in terms of movie distribution. With the knowledge of demographic segmentation, they are able to determine what kind of movie suites who and what to create.
Disney targets children and their families; for small children they have animation films and toys. For older kids and teens it has Disney channel, radio Disney and their live action films such as Pirates of the Caribbean which also attracts the adults. Disney theme parks carefully consider the joy and amusement of a family as a whole. Moreover, the Disney store has its personal décor department which seeks to satisfy the needs and wants of the parents and their children. It has expanded its market by targeting younger girls through their Disney princess sector; Cinderella, Snow white, Sleeping beauty, Rapunzel and others,
The fantastical look of the logo makes it easy for people to identify with Walt Disney this has propelled it to high heights, Parents will mostly consider buy their kids movies with the Disney brand. One of its logos showed a revolving Mickey Mouse while it showcased th ...

Running Head: Public Speaking Class 1
Public Speaking Class 3
Each of the two chapters offers very important information. This information shall be summarized into the five most important items derived from each of the chapters as is done below:
Chapter Three: The Importance of Listening
· When we hear, we choose to filter out the sounds that we are of less meaning to us and pay attention to the more meaningful sounds.
· When we listen, we are motivated by a purpose to exert effort to pay attention to something, such as when working, something which we do only at given times.
· For a person to listen critically, an activity which goes hand in hand with critical thinking, he/she engages in a systematic thought process to determine whether the message received is sensible enough.
· Some of the main ways for developing critical listening are uncovering assumptions, recognizing the differences between facts and opinions, relating new ideas to old ones, being open to new ideas and relying on reason and common sense (Wrench, Goding, Johnson, & Attias, The Importance of Listening, 2011).
· To listen ethically entails giving the speaker a fair opportunity to speak make himself clearly understood, and being mindful and respectful of him as well.
Chapter Four: Ethics Matter: Understanding the Ethics of Public Speaking
· Based on the ethics pyramid, the three basic concepts of ethics in public speaking are ends (what a person hopes to achieve), means (how a person intends to achieve the outcome he desires) and intention.
· For ethics to be exercised efficiently in public speaking, the speaker should be able to strike a balance between these three basic concepts.
· Nine principles of ethical communication basically define the moral considerations that are to be made when engaging in communication under public speaking.
· What each of these principles have in common is that they acknowledge that while it is necessary for public speakers to speak up/communicate whenever they feel it is necessary, they should do so while considering the impact of their communication to others.
· Free speech, which is the right that one has to freely express ideas or information without having to worry about government restrictions or any other limitations as guaranteed by the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution is of importance to a public speaker since public speaking generally entails the passage of information and ideas to the public allowing them to consider multiple points of view (Wrench, Goding, Johnson, & Attias, Ethics Matters: Understanding the Ethics of Public Speaking, 2011).

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions

The “Elevator Pitch” – How Investors Think
To make a great presentation or business pitch it’s important to consider how the investors’
mind works, and which are the main aspects that they usually consider to approve or reject
projects. According this research the main subjects that investors (venture capitalists, business
angels, private equity, State funding agencies, benefactors) take in consideration are in the
table 1 and 2 below.
An elevator pitch (or elevator speech or elevator statement) is a short summary used to
quickly and simply define a product, service, or organization and its value proposition. The
name "elevator pitch" reflects the idea that it should be possible to deliver the summary in the
time span of an elevator ride, or approximately thirty seconds to two minutes. In The Perfect
Elevator Speech, Aileen Pincus states that an elevator speech should "sum up unique aspects
of your service or product in a way that excites others." (Wikipedia)

Considering the Business Angel’s mind‐set, it is important to create great presentations, with
clear and supported ideas, with a focus in the market with a sustainability business model.
Therefore, it is also important to expose your entrepreneur characteristics, and how you
should prepare a pitch session to investors.
Pitch session guide lines
1. Prepare and rehearse
I am easily satisfied with the very best
Winston Churchill
To make a great elevator speech, you must find the core message, with a great engage story,
and only then go on details. Choose the right words, to small and very well comprehensive
phrases, with an effective beginning and end, spotting the right place for humor, and using an
appropriate body language to the situation. It’s highly recommended to make a good
rehearsal, which will probably inspire you and gives you high confidence to “touch” the
audience. Be sure about how many time do you have, and Keep you on time, focused in
relevance information, and well synchronized with the presentation. If you have lot of
information and few time speeches, leave some smart questions inline to be asked by the
audience in the end of your speech – it will be a strategy to get some extra time. Prepare also
these answers.
Key point: Take the time to prepare carefully each speech and rehearse
2. Start with a ‘bang’ end with a vision
In every phenomenon the beginning remains always the most notable moment.

3. Care about connecting
It is very important to make a connection with the audience, showing confidence,
applying rhetoric questions, create a mental structure with the main ideas, expose a
clear mind‐set about the subjects, making some pauses to emphasizing, which means
that is important a certain degree of acting, but be sure the audience see it as
communication propose to telling the true, not to foist ideas.
Key point: When speaking in public don’t present, just talk to people
4. Engage with emotions
When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic,
but creatures of emotion
Dale Carnegie
To promote a connection between speaker and the audience, don´t just provide data
or information. Let the emotions flows, and make the difference between a great and
vibrating speech from just another one. Engage you public with emotions. “If you're
trying to persuade people to do something, or buy something, it seems to me you should use
their language, the language they use every day, the language in which they think. (David
Ogilvy).
Key point: Let emotions go
5. Presenting being present
Eighty percent of success is showing up
Woody Allen
The speaker must be conscientious that the audience is there to listening you and see
what you have to show them, and it must be your propose too – to present new idea
or proposals, to add more knowledge or to make a challenge to the audience, and at
last, if you don’t have any important to tell, you must entertain the audience at least.
In any situation, the speaker must communicate with a non‐verbal language as much
as the verbal. It is important to establish eye contact with the public, mind the posture,
use facial expression and gestures, take the space as a stage, and if possible, walk and
get close with the audience (Whiteford, 1999; Reynolds 2005; Gallo, 2005;).
Key point: Talk slowly, pause and look at your public
