This document provides instruction on identifying subjects and predicates in sentences. It defines subjects as the part of the sentence referring to what or who it is about, and predicates as telling something about the subject. Examples are given of finding simple subjects and predicates, as well as compound subjects and predicates containing more than one element. Students are asked to identify these parts of sentences throughout the document.
