George Brown College's Academic Upgrading program celebrated over 50 of their students who were accepted into post-secondary and apprenticeship programs at George Brown and other Ontario colleges. The students were congratulated at a celebration held at the Chef's House restaurant on campus. Faculty from popular programs also attended to offer tips to students for success in their upcoming programs starting in September.

Megan Nayler received a letter from the Dean of Human Services and Community Safety congratulating her for making the Dean's List at Georgian College for the Winter 2015 term. The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who achieved a Grade Point Average of 80% or higher. The dean praised Megan for her dedication, commitment, and for being an excellent ambassador that strengthens both the college and local community.

Shakeria Perry is proud to have graduated from high school and is excited about her journey. Her goals are to focus hard on her studies, walk across the graduation stage, and become a better student. 4 Reasons for Taking the SAT before Your Senior
Taking the SAT earlier in high school provides several benefits. It allows students to submit scores earlier for college admission applications, take advantage of score choice to submit their best scores, and have more time to retake the test and improve their scores if needed. Early testing also gives students access to special summer programs at universities and the opportunity to tour preferred colleges. Overall, taking the SAT as a junior allows senior year to focus on other activities without the test preparation and stress of the SAT.

This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

- 2. Academic Upgrading at George Brown College is proud to celebrate that more than 50 of our students were accepted into Post Secondary and Apprenticeship programs at George Brown and other colleges across Ontario. On Friday June 11th, we toasted their success at the Chef’s House, George Brown College’s student run restaurant.
- 3. Our students received several warm notes of congratulations from Susan Toews, Chair of the School of Work and College Preparation, Georgia Quartaro, Dean of the Centre for Preparatory and Liberal Studies and Anne Sado, President of George Brown College.
- 4. Aaron Grant, who is a former Academic Upgrading student – and who is currently on the Dean’s List for his work in the Pre-Community program also shared his experiences as an Upgrading student and informed our group that he will be starting his next program - Career and Work Counselor in September.
- 5. Faculty and Coordinators from our students’ top 8 programs, including Dental, Community Services, Health Sciences and Technology ate with us to share their tips for success in September. Congratulations to all students in Academic Upgrading – for your courage and dedication to your goals. We look forward to supporting your growth this summer and throughout the year.
