4. SUMMARY OF PERSONAL PAST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES.
1. Development of Baroids ENVIROMUL LTOB systemfor North Sea and provided environmental
legislative registration.
2. Identification of the condition later to be known as “barite sag” as caused by Boycott effect from
early studies of problem on Amoco Norway, Valhall Field and directing research to eliminate.
3. Set up of European manufacture of Baroid emulsifiers and other chemicals to meet Baroid quality
control specification. Fully aware and experienced in manufacturing processes.
4. Provided technical support on superdeep projects for Vattenfells Gravberg no. 1, KTB
Windenessenbach no.1and was active participant in International Congress on Deep Geophysical
Sounding and Drilling.
5. Studies and planning for Tengis 54 T for USSR Ministry of Oil and Gas.
6. Developed HTHP stable water based fluids and provided technical support on Agip Po Valley
ultra deep project. Other HTHP projects supported were for Phillips Norway, Statoil Denmark,
Petroland Holland, BP North Sinai, and Aramco deep Khuff wells.
7. Initiated and developed PETROFREE esterbased fluid systemand patent holder.
8. Elimination of stress induced wellbore instability in Malay Basin high angle development wells
by modelling and provision of upper and lower mud weight contourplots for each field.
9. Studied formation damage caused by oil muds on Bekok field, Malay Basin and developed SBM
systemand specifications that eliminated the problem. This greatly increased the operator’s
accessible reserves.
10. Prepared technical ITB documentation and made technical evaluation of tenders for British Gas
Egypt (1996), Petronas Carigali, EPMI, SSB joint tender(2001) and Talisman Energy Malaysia
(2002)
11. Produced drilling fluids design, using water based fluids only for two wells in Hassi Ma’Saoud,
Algeria. Both wells were successfully drilled where previously only OBM was employed to
provide stable wells. Monitored and supported both wells.
