In July, the club met for a coffee morning and sweet pea display. Normally the best
me for these flowers, we have found the growing season this year very patchy,
but that is the gardener’s lot – it changes each year so always a challenge. How-
ever, we were able to put on a small display - the pastel shades and wonderful
scent a delight to see and smell.
In August, it’s our last event for the season, before we re-start our monthly
mee ngs with a speaker on Thursday 14th
September 2023. We are looking
forward to our Annual Show, which will be our 45th
- see details below.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of local gardens open to visit under the Na onal
Garden Scheme. Please check the website: www.ngs.org.uk for up to date

Chris Tovey, a member of the Stratton
Association committee, had great
pleasure in presenting the Stratton
Association Community award to Amie
Nelmes, a Stratton resident.
Amie produces all the beautiful craft work
that appears on the post box outside
Stratton Stores. Her latest work
commemorates 75 years of the NHS.
Congratulations Amie, we cannot wait
to see what comes next!
