The Tuesday Group
Our Annual Ou ng on 4th
July this year was a day in Stra ord upon Avon:
unfortunately a er weeks of sunshine it turned out to be a very damp, wet day but
everyone s ll managed to have an enjoyable me. Many people went on a boat trip
along the canal, or took a tour around Stra ord on the Hop on Hop Off. In the
Theatre there was an exhibi on of costumes, so there were s ll lots of things to do
even if it was a wet day, and also there were many shops in Stra ord for people to
look around.
We do not have a mee ng in August. Many people will be away on holiday so the
mee ngs start again on September 5th
when we will be entertained by Mr Nicholas
Herbert who is going to give a talk on Georgian Cirencester Trade and Travel.
Do come and join us on these monthly Tuesday evenings to socialise and be
entertained. We also have a sales table which has many items, that have been
donated, on sale to help raise funds for the church. You are most welcome to
donate items to this table if you wish.
The Tuesday Group meet at Stra on Village Hall on the first Tuesday of the month.
7.00 for start at 7.30pm. Admission is £3.00. All are most welcome – men and
women, young and old – so do come along and bring a friend. For further

In July, the club met for a coffee morning and sweet pea display. Normally the best
me for these flowers, we have found the growing season this year very patchy,
but that is the gardener’s lot – it changes each year so always a challenge. How-
ever, we were able to put on a small display - the pastel shades and wonderful
scent a delight to see and smell.
In August, it’s our last event for the season, before we re-start our monthly
mee ngs with a speaker on Thursday 14th
September 2023. We are looking
forward to our Annual Show, which will be our 45th
- see details below.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of local gardens open to visit under the Na onal
Garden Scheme. Please check the website: www.ngs.org.uk for up to date

Chris Tovey, a member of the Stratton

pleasure in presenting the Stratton
Association Community award to Amie
Nelmes, a Stratton resident.
Amie produces all the beautiful craft work
that appears on the post box outside
Stratton Stores. Her latest work
commemorates 75 years of the NHS.
Congratulations Amie, we cannot wait to
see what comes next!
