iNTRODUCTION
 Events give organisations the opportunity to showcase their activities
or services in the community.
 Events are an important part of community life and it is a rewarding
experience to contribute to a successful event.
 However, anyone who has been involved in running an event
understands how daunting the task can be.
 This unit has been designed to provide an insight to prepare a
comprehensive Event Management Plan.
 The activities included in this unit can be used to plan any event an
organisation conducts.

 Know about different stages of event planning
 Know about the roles and responsibilities of people
involved in planning and delivering of events
 Be able to plan and develop timeline for event
management
 Be able to review the planning and delivery of a event
EVENt PLANNING
1. Definition of Event Management
• Process of planning, preparing, and producing events.
• Involves acquisition, allocation, direction, and control of resources to achieve objectives.
2. Role of an Event Manager
• Oversee and arrange all aspects of an event.
• Key responsibilities: researching, planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, and
evaluating.
3. Event Planning Process
• Creation and communication of an operational roadmap to guide actions, policies, and
decision-making.
• Aligns with the strategic plan and supports its implementation.
4. Event Management Plan
• A document detailing directions, actions, and schedules for event execution.
• Focused on short-term operational goals, typically one to three years.
5. Purpose of the Plan
 Guides internal operations and outlines financial and operational
objectives.
 Indicates methods to achieve and monitor these objectives.
6.Adaptability of the Plan
 Acts as a roadmap for regular operations while remaining
adaptable.
 Allows for adjustments in response to changing conditions, new
