Storyboards are panels that illustrate scenes from a movie, animation, or interactive media in sequence to help visualize and plan shots. The Walt Disney Studios developed storyboarding in the early 1930s. A film storyboard acts like a comic strip of the film, helping the director and producers visualize scenes to plan the budget and find potential issues. Storyboards include arrows to indicate movement and give a visual layout of events through the camera lens. This planning allows for experimenting with changes and input from different people. However, storyboarding is not the best technique for planning dialog scenes as it can make them too fragmented with multiple camera additions.
