The document outlines the shots and elements that will be included in a film trailer. It describes a series of shots beginning with school photos of murdered girls and an ambulance sound. 1. The opening shot shows a plain black screen with school
photographs of the four murdered girls. White font will then
gradually appearing by letter, as shown above. A non diagetic
ambulance sound will begin fairly loud and gradually decrease.

2. The second shot on the screen again shows a black screen
supported by white writing with the text as shown above. The
‘omega’ symbol will then flash up twice. The non diagetic
ambulance sound will decrease and gradually come to an end.

3. A long shot will then show a full length image of the reporter revealing
the news of the murders. The mise-en-scene will be formal clothing
and the lighting will be dim and bleak. We have chosen a location that
has trees in the background in order to support the claustrophobic
atmosphere. The sound within this scene will be diagetic dialogue
coming from the reporter. There will be no non diagetic sound.

4. A close up shot will show white static that has been filmed from
our own TV and then is edited in. The diagetic sound from this
will provide noise for the scene.

5. A close up shot will show a test card on the screen for the
viewer. A loud ‘beep’ will then be edited over the top to portray
a loss of signal.

6. A medium close up black screen will again show white font upon
it. This will be produced within the editing stage of production.
We are yet to find the sound to support this clip but it will be
one of tension that gradually rises and then dramatically cuts.

7. Another black screen with white bold font will be used to show
‘until now’. The tension sound that has been used in the
previous scene will dramatically cut so that all focus is on the
present day.

8. Using a long shot we will film girl 1 making the home documentary
style report. The mise-en-scene will show forestry area for the viewer
to draw comparisons between this and the previous news report.
Again, the only sound will be diagetic dialogue. Within the editing
phase, we will add in the recording symbol and the outline of the
camera as shown in the frame.

9. A cut will then bring the narrative to a panning shot of a
graveyard panning from left to right. A low key piano will begin
playing non diagetically and the mise-en-scene will show a
graveyard in the early winter time. A non diagetic voiceover will
begin narrating the background to the curse information.

10. This frame uses a long over the shoulder shot, with the continued
low key non diagetic piano sound. In order to show the vulnerability
of key characters, the mise-en-scene will be over grown trees so that
the camera view is restricted by leaves and shrubs. The voiceover is
still continued non diagetically. The camera will track the girls as they
move to give the impression of the girls being ‘watched’.

11. An extreme close up will then be used to show the detail of the grave
and the name of the victim mentioned in the original 1997 news
report. The non diagetic piano will be increasing gradually in pace
here and we will edit this in the editing stage, as well as the voice
over still playing.

12. This frame uses a high angled shot to show the potential victims
hands researching ‘The Omega Curse’ on a laptop. Diagetic
sounds of the keys being pressed will also be incorporated here.

13. The previous frame then cuts to a close up zoomed image of the
research on a screen to put further emphasis on this part of the
narrative. The non diagetic voice over will still be continued at
this point.

14. A quick cut then supports a high angled shot directing the audiences
vision down to a limb engraved with the omega symbol. The voiceover
will have just said ‘paralysing their soul’ so supports the ideas from the
audience that this limb is one of the Curse Catchers’. The mise-enscene within this frame will be the arm lying on a bed of grassy leaves
and the lighting will be bright around it for emphasis.

15. A further fast cut sees a long shot zoom in as girl 3 runs towards
the camera. The sound hears a diagetic scream and the non
diagetic voiceover will momentarily pause for emphasis on the
cry for help. The lighting will be low key and the mise-en-scene
will be more forestry area, over grown and dense, with girl 3 in a
casual parka coat and jeans.

16. A close up shot in this frame will show a black screen with the same
white font clearly showing the name of the film. In the editing
process on iMovie we will edit so that the name flashes up making it
aparent to the audience. The sound will use a non diagetic crash
noise as the name of the film comes onto the screen. The voiceover
will come to a closure saying ‘once the curse has got you, there’s no
escape. We will edit this tag line to the screen with the name of the
film so that the two are recognisable with each other.

17. There will be one final extreme close up shot of Girl 2 to show
her fear and diagetic screaming of ‘Lucy’ will further support
this. The lighting will be very low and dark in order to give an
atmosphere of claustrophobia and distress.

18. The trailer will then end with one final black screen with just the
date of the films release. There will be no sound and no miseen-scene. The iconography is black and white as produced in the
edits stage therefore supports the ideas of horror.
