Noah was the first messenger of God and one of the prophets of strong resolve. The people of Noah originally worshipped righteous men from Noah's community after their deaths but later began worshipping idols instead. Noah called his people to worship God alone for many years through public and private preaching, but they refused to listen and persisted in idolatry and pride. God ultimately sent a flood to destroy the disbelieving people while Noah and his followers, who believed, were saved on the ark.
