The narrator watched a community of very poor and hardworking people from their window. They wanted to help the community so they started spending time with them, talking to them about health and savings. Over time, the narrator became trusted by the community. They studied projects, monitoring and evaluation to do more for the community. Each evening, the narrator shared their learning with school girls. After years of work, the narrator wrote a proposal to formalize the work but it was rejected, causing great sadness. However, the school girls had written about the work and received an award and funding to continue it. The narrator realized the journey of learning and sharing was more important than the destination or results.

So I wrote a PRO
and again,
refined it again

...and finally su
to the authority.
AND, IT WAS REJECTED
The world turned dark, !!!
I cried and cried....
...tore every piece of paper
I had on the project..every photograph!
wish I could tear off
my memories as well!!

7. I sat in the corner...
there was no path...
I didn’t go out
for several days,
didn’t eat...
cried and slept,
cried and slept....!!!
But one morning,

they came to give me a surprize.
AND WHAT A SURPRIZE IT IS!
THEY WROTE ABOUT OUR WORK,
AND NOT ONLY GOT AN AWARD
BUT ALSO GRANTED MONEY
TO TAKE THE WORK FORWARD!!!!
