Stop the War coalition <br />Aims of the campaign<br />The Stop the War Coalition was formed on September 21st, 2001 in London. <br />The aim of the Coalition was: to stop the war declared by the United States and its allies against 'terrorism'. They condemned the attacks on New York and felt the greatest compassion for those who lost their lives on 11th September 2001.<br />The objectives of the Coalition are as set out in its founding statement of aims, as may be amended by its national conference as it considers appropriate.<br />Target Audience <br />The target audience for this campaign is adults 18 and over who are interested in stopping wars and also people who would like to influence government to stop wars and conflict. The campaign website looks like its appealing to people who are able to vote and adults who want to make a difference in politics etc.<br />Campaign strategy <br />The campaign website gave out contact details and telling people to contact them with thoughts or feedback about the campaign. Also the campaign website encouraged users to get involved by donating money towards the campaign and by contacting campaign heads and getting involved in petitions etc. Another campaign strategy the campaigners have used is to put up application forms on their website for people to volunteer and get involved in events to do with the campaign and show support and learn more about the campaign. Campaigners have also promoted the website on search engines to grab more attention of web users, the website has loads of ways for people to get involved in the campaign or support it.<br />Effectiveness of campaign strategy’s<br />The website is very effective and has been promoted very well and there are a lot of people supporting the campaign. There are many local groups set up so that people can find them though the website and visit these groups and start to get involved in the campaign and understanding its aims and supporting it etc. There is even a membership section on the campaigns website this shows that there are many supports and that the promotion of the website has paid off and a lot of people like it.<br />
