Abstract:
Stop “Text Neck Syndrome” is an Initiative that has been raised
in collaboration between Misr Public Library (Zeitoun Branch)
and the faculty of physical therapy at Cairo University in 2017
to raise the awareness of the correct postures to use the
different items of smart devices and perform the essential
physical activities after using these devices.
Phases of Implementation at NUL RS:
Phase1: to be implemented for the technical services team at the National and University Library of Republika
Srpska (NUL RS), 19 librarians. (July-August 2022). A survey will be distributed to receive librarians' feedback.
Phase2: Promote the initiative to raise users' awareness at the NUL RS. (Sep.-Dec.2022).
Phase3: Calling for a world awareness day to stop "text neck syndrome" across the world's libraries.
Phase4: Writing a joint article about the "text neck syndrome" to be published and shared to stop the "text
neck syndrome" across the world's libraries as much as possible.
Note: all steps will be followed and revised by Prof. Dr. Salah Raslan as he is an expert in this area of knowledge
among the academic staff at the faculty of physical therapy at Cairo University.
Fix your posture, do the essential physical
activities regularly, and take a break.
- Limit smartphone use to only 15-20
minutes at a time.
- Limit tablet use to only 30-40 minutes
at a time.
- Limit computer or laptop use to only
60 minutes at a time.
