24. HEX Tunnel Access Rules
-Every 4th
person working in the Hex tunnel must have tunnel fire
training – May 30th
KP (week 10) / to be revised for later requirements
-Protection to be provided for engineering trains in the tunnel (oil spills
etc)
-New infrastructure to be added to the HEX tunnel must be assessed
and approved by HARP
-Tunnel ventilation risk assessment – very short period when locos
running
-All works in HEX infrastructure must be applied through the WAF
process (liaison through HECC control)
-Leading Loco shut down on granting of possession, train to enter
tunnel with country end loco powering but both locos to have driver in
cab
-Risk assessment and possible mitigation to account for 1/40 gradient in
tunnel
