Who are involved in STM publishing and what are the scales of our activities ?

Firsty there are, of course, scientific journals, altogether somewhere between 18 and 20K titles in English language.About 300 of them are from Japan.
The total of such STM papers are about 1.2Million per year, 100K comes from Japan. They are written by some 1.5 M authors globally. In Japan, between 150-200K authors are writing papers every year.
As for STM books in English, Springer publishes about 7% of the total 50K.
There are about 1,000 publishing houses in the world, I am told.... .
