This presentation provides an overview of Woodside Energy (Myanmar) Pte Ltd's oil and gas exploration and production activities in Myanmar. It summarizes Woodside's operations in several exploration blocks, including seismic surveys and exploration drilling completed or planned. It also discusses various aspects of the oil and gas lifecycle from acquisition and exploration to development, operation, and production. The presentation outlines Woodside's approach to environmental and social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and complying with Myanmar's environmental impact assessment procedures and timelines.
Recap of 2014 meeting and this meeting’s ObjectivesEthical Sector
The document discusses offshore oil and gas operations and environmental impact assessments (EIAs) in Myanmar. It summarizes workshops that were held in 2014 and 2016 between regulators and titleholders to discuss seismic exploration activities and the EIA framework. Titleholders requested that EIA procedures align with international standards and recognize the phased nature of offshore activities. Since 2014, many companies have conducted seismic surveys and exploration wells. The document outlines possible future activities from 2016-2018 and key learnings from EIA processes, including recognizing progress but needing a risk-based, streamlined, and certain regulatory approach.
IEE for 2D Seismic Survey AD-10 Process and Lessons LearnedEthical Sector
This document summarizes the key points of an IEE (Initial Environmental Examination) report for a proposed 2D seismic survey in offshore block AD-10 in Myanmar waters. The survey area is over 150km from shore and in over 2000m of water. The objectives of the IEE were to identify potential environmental and social impacts and mitigation measures. The process involved stakeholder consultations, baseline data collection, impact assessment, and disclosure of plans. Key findings were that sensitive habitats are over 150km away and no protected areas would be affected. Potential impacts on marine life from sound and accidental spills would be mitigated. Lessons learned included the need to streamline consultation processes and improve predictability of IEE approval
This presentation discusses Woodside Energy's exploration drilling activities in Myanmar and provides an overview of the oil and gas exploration and development process. It notes that actual results from drilling may differ due to risk factors inherent in oil and gas exploration. It also outlines Woodside's blocks and joint ventures in Myanmar and provides timelines for seismic surveys and planned future drilling.
1) Shell/BG plan to conduct seismic surveys offshore Myanmar in 7 blocks to inform drilling decisions by 2017. Consultation with local authorities, communities, and NGOs was conducted as part of the IEE process to develop mitigation plans.
2) Issues raised during consultation included concerns about impacts on fishing and fish populations from surveys. Lessons from the surveys included interacting with more fishermen than predicted and applying additional mitigation like extra guard vessels.
3) Observations during the surveys found higher than expected numbers of marine mammals and turtles. Applied mitigation included marine mammal observers and following JNCC standards.

This document summarizes the findings of a survey and complaints received by the Myanmar Consumers Union regarding e-commerce. It shows that while consumers recognize some advantages of e-commerce, many have also experienced direct problems like not receiving goods after payment. Common issues involved ordering from overseas websites and being unable to get refunds once the sites disappeared. Mobile payments also led to instances of funds being withdrawn without authorization. The document concludes that while Myanmar has consumer protection laws, many consumers remain unaware of their rights and how to seek dispute resolution. It raises the need for an e-commerce law or regulations regarding cyber security.
