2. Star wars
• In all Star wars movies it has an opening
crawl, the iconic music is the theme of the
entire saga. The opening crawl text comes
from the bottom of the screen and
ascends into the distant galaxy, this
describes part of the movie. It consists of
the extreme long shot of the endurance in
the actual action scenes in the beginning,
to then a follow shot of Anakin and obi
wans starfighters blitz through the fleet
and then into another extreme longshot of
the war in space that is occurring, all
images on the next slide.
5. Mise En
Scene -
• Mise en scene used in the opening scene were just
familiarizing the jedi fleet, the decal of the ships and the
droid R2-D2, these are all iconic details in the saga.
6. Sound -
• The sound and music we get in the opening
crawl starts as soon as the “star wars” logo
shows up and carries through the opening
sequence and fades away matching with the
text used.
• The music used in the rest was constant, it was
the “Battle over coruscant theme” music. It
gave us a real sense of ease as Anakin and obi
wan starfighters soar through space. This is
non-diegetic sound as they can’t hear it.
• When obi wan and Anakin's starfighters blitz
passed close to the camera, that was the main
audio we heard (louder than the theme music)
and the actual firing of the ships was also
heard over the music. This is pleonastic sound.
7. Editing -
• The title of “Star Wars” is in a ITC Serif
Gothic font and all letters are
capitalised. The font used is iconic for
the star wars logo branding. It is a big
and bold font which is constantly used
in every movie for the opening crawl as
well, it is in the News Gothic font which
is also a very big and bold font.
Throughout the opening scene the
camera mainly follows Anakin and Obi
wans starfighters and through the tight
spaces between the big fleets comes a
transition into a wide space of more
action and spaceships.
• In the photo shown, their ships were
just soaring over their own fleet ship
and they dived down and transitioned
into the actual battle over coruscant
which displays loads of more action and
fleets.
