The aim of this study was to compare the selected physical fitness components between Bangladeshi
and Indian girls aged 7 to 9 years old. The study was conducted on 107 Indian girls and 104 Bangladeshi girls
for the comparison of selected physical fitness variables. The selected variables for the study were upper body
strength endurance (flex arm hang), agility (4x10 m. shuttle run) and cardiovascular endurance (Reduced
cooper test). T-test was used to find out the significant difference among different disciplines. It was concluded
that there was significant difference between Indian and Bangladeshi girls in strength endurance (upper body).
But the significance differences were not found on agility and cardiovascular endurance variables. Indian girls
have better agility and cardio respiratory endurance than Bangladeshi girls but Bangladeshi girls have better
upper body strength endurance than Indian girls.
The study surveyed 198 Greek students aged 15-17 years on their physical activity levels using the stages of change model. The majority (63%) were physically active in stages 4 or 5, with 53% in stage 5 having maintained an active lifestyle for over 6 months. Boys showed higher activity levels than girls at 75% versus 54%. Younger students (1st grade) had higher activity levels than older students (78% versus 50% for 3rd grade). Thus, inactivity seemed more pronounced among girls and older students. The researchers concluded that physical activity programs and services should emphasize girls and older students more prone to inactivity.

This document discusses differential learning, an approach that takes advantage of fluctuations in a complex system to improve learning. It does this through non-repetitive and constantly changing movement tasks. Studies have found this approach leads to better skill acquisition and learning rates compared to traditional training. The differential learning approach amplifies natural fluctuations to destabilize and force the emergence of new, more effective coordination strategies during learning.

This study aimed to determine if pre-class ingestion of an energy bar with moderate glycemic index (MGI) impacted blood glucose levels and affect in dancers compared to fasting. 11 dancers completed a crossover trial where they consumed either the MGI bar or fasted before class. Blood glucose and feelings of pleasure were measured at baseline and 30 and 60 minutes into class. Results showed that fasting led to a larger rise and fall in blood glucose during class compared to consuming the MGI bar. Feelings of pleasure were higher when fasting compared to the MGI bar. The study highlights the importance of assessing both physiological and psychological parameters in dancers.
This study evaluated the physical outcomes of students participating in university physical activity education classes (PEAC). Students were recruited from aerobic-activity classes (e.g. aerobics, jogging, walking) or sport-activity classes (e.g. badminton, strength training). Those in aerobic classes showed improvements in aerobic ability and grip strength, while those in sport classes improved vertical jump height and grip strength. The results provide initial evidence that PEAC classes can help improve markers of physical fitness and health. However, more robust research is still needed to fully validate these programs and determine best practices.
ABSTRACT- This study determined the relationship between obesity parameters (Body Mass Index, Waist Hip Ratio,
Waist Thigh Ratio and Body Fat Percentage) and cardio respiratory fitness in terms of physical fitness index (PFI) and
also were compared the selected physiological parameters (resting pulse rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure) among
three body weight categories of selected boys. The present study was carried out in 233 healthy school going Bengali boys
aged 11 to <13><0.05)>< 0.001) and negative correlation with physical
fitness index (PFI). However, multiple regression analysis found that only body mass index and waist hip circumference
(WHR) were independently and significantly associated with the physical fitness index (PFI). The present study reveals
that higher values of BMI, body fat% and WHR may be responsible for lower score of PFI which indicates low
cardiorespiratory fitness in Bengali overweight and obese children.

This study investigated the relationship between body fat percentage and physical fitness performance among 30 male basketball players aged 19-25 who participated in intervarsity games. The AAHPER test was used to measure physical fitness, while the Jackson & Pollock equation was used to determine body fat percentage. Pearson's correlation found a significant relationship between higher body fat percentage and lower physical fitness performance. This suggests that increased body fat negatively impacts athletic performance in sports requiring body movement.

Improving Students’ Effort Capacity through Movement Games in Physical Educat...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: Maintaining effort capacity is one of the goals pursued in adult physical education. Sedentary people have difficulty in sustaining an effort that is considered to be withing the usual intensity. They should receive training exercise because they have lost the physical ability through a bad conduct of life. In this research we started from the hypothesis that the use in the physical education lesson of motion games, which involves sustained efforts, will lead to a much faster increase of the students’ effort capacity. Dynamic games will determine the students to participate with greater interest and pleasure in lessons, and this will result in improved effort due to their active involvement. The goal was to highlight that motion games can also be used with success in the case of young people. The attractiveness and dynamism that characterizes the games determines the students to be more active and more involved in practicing physical exercise. The experiment was conducted on a group of 18 students from the second year of study at Faculty of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, at „Ştefan cel Mare” University of Suceava. The control group was formed from 18 students in the second year, the same specialization in another study group. The experiment was conducted over a period of 4 months (October 2018 – February 2019).
The document outlines a 3-year PhD proposal to examine the effects of concurrent strength training on biomechanical and physiological markers in obese adolescents through 3 related studies comparing obese and non-obese adolescents, evaluating different concurrent training interventions, and different training periodization models on these markers. The goal is to provide information on the potential for concurrent training to help manage adolescent obesity.

In contrast, the control group showed no significant changes. Therefore, the experimental
For elderly patients at risk of falls in long-term care, a nurse-led exercise program aimed at improving strength and balance, conducted twice weekly for six months, may reduce fall incidence compared to no such program. The proposed program would train nurses to lead classes incorporating balance, coordination, and lower body exercises shown to lower fall risks. Patients' balance, strength, self-efficacy, and fall risks would be measured before, during, and after the six-month program to evaluate its effectiveness in reducing falls.
Crimson Publishers: Impact of Resistance Training on Flexibility of Male Coll...Crimson-ForensicScience
The aim of this study was to find out the effect of resistance training on flexibility of male college hostel students. Twenty male hostel students (n=20) were randomly selected from the Government Degree College, Anantnag. The ages were ranged between 18 and 22 years. The selected subjects were randomly assigned into two equal groups as training group (TG) control group (CG). The training group (TG) underwent respective resistance training programme for twelve weeks duration for three days per week and a session on each day. The control group (CG) did not expose any special training apart from their regular activities. The flexibility was taken as a dependant variable for the study and it was measured by using sit and reach test. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to analyze the collected data. The result revealed that resistance training was made significant improvement (p≤0.05) in Physical Fitness of selected subjects. The level of confidence was fixed at 0.05 levels.
This article summarizes 8 studies that examined the effects of various resistance training interventions on vertical jump performance in athletes. The studies tested interventions such as Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, back squats, and line drills. Most studies found that resistance training can improve vertical jump height, with some studies finding Olympic weightlifting may provide slightly greater improvements than power lifting. However, the increases in vertical jump from resistance training were generally small.
This study examined the relationship between various modes of physical activity (PA) and academic achievement in adolescents. It found that:
1) Males engaged in higher levels of PA than females across most modes measured, including habitual PA, active transport, physical education, extra-curricular sport, and community-based sport.
2) For males, habitual PA and physical education minutes were positively correlated with academic achievement. For females, only physical education minutes were positively correlated.
3) Physical education minutes emerged as the strongest predictor of academic achievement for both males and females in regression analysis.
The study concluded that physical education should be adequately included in the school curriculum due to its associations with academic achievement. It also noted
This study aimed to promote weight reduction in overweight African Americans through a mall-walking program in Jackson, Mississippi. 260 participants with a BMI over 25 between ages 18-65 were randomly assigned to a control group with access only to the mall-walking route, or groups that also received encouragement from a counselor or peer. Over 6 months, the only group that saw a significant weight loss was the peer group, which lost an average of 5.25 pounds, suggesting that regular mall-walking with a friend or partner can help lead to weight loss.

The document summarizes a study that used Fitbit pedometers to measure the physical activity levels of 21 university students over 15 weeks. It found that wearing the pedometers did not significantly impact activity levels. On average, females wore the Fitbit more days per week but males had higher daily step counts. Some individuals' activity decreased over time. The study suggests pedometers may not change behavior but could provide guidance to promote physical activity.
This document summarizes a study that compared the post-exercise nutrition knowledge and practices of masters (≥50 years) and younger (≤30 years) triathletes in Australia. The study found that over 40% of triathletes did not know the recommended post-exercise carbohydrate and protein intake amounts. Both groups consumed inadequate carbohydrate after exercise compared to recommendations, with masters triathletes consuming significantly less carbohydrate and energy than younger triathletes. The results suggest triathletes have poor knowledge of post-exercise nutrition guidelines and masters triathletes may not be optimizing their recovery with current intake practices.

This study examined differences in physical fitness and physical activity self-efficacy among 1,432 4th grade students from urban and suburban schools. It found that minority and low-socioeconomic status (SES) children scored lower than white and higher-SES peers on fitness tests and a self-efficacy scale. Among girls and boys, significant effects were seen for ethnicity and SES. Post-hoc analysis revealed minority and low-SES students scored lower on mile run, curl-ups, push-ups, BMI, and self-efficacy. The study aims to use these findings to develop school-based interventions to improve physical fitness and health among underserved minority youth.
Effect of Circuit Training on Agility of College Male Students-Crimson Publis...CrimsonPublishersFSAR
The document summarizes a study that examined the effects of circuit training on agility in college male volleyball players. Thirty male students between ages 18-24 were randomly assigned to a training group or control group. The training group underwent an 8-week circuit training program 3 days per week, while the control group did not receive specialized training. Agility was measured by shuttle run tests before and after. Results showed the training group had a significant improvement in agility compared to the control group after the circuit training intervention. The study concluded that circuit training is an effective method for improving agility in young men.

This document summarizes two research articles on motivational factors for sports participation among university student-athletes and the effectiveness of a university's sports program.
The first article found that family and friends were the main motivational factors for initial sports participation and career choice among student-athletes. Intrinsic motives like learning new skills were the main drivers for continued participation. Most student-athletes did not intend to pursue professional athletic careers.
The second article examined factors correlated with the effectiveness of a state university's sports program. It found the program was more focused on competitive sports than wellness activities. System of incentives for athletes positively correlated with program effectiveness.
This document outlines a proposed intervention to increase physical activity among freshmen at Kansas State University. The intervention includes physical activity classes, laboratory sessions teaching exercises, and providing exercise kits for dorms. An evaluation plan involves initial and final surveys of freshmen to assess changes in physical activity, as well as monthly process surveys to track program participation and feedback. The goal is to increase physical activity knowledge and self-efficacy, leading to higher physical activity levels and potential long-term health benefits for students.
Effect of Eight Weeks Conditioning On Body Mass Index of College StudentsIOSR Journals
This study examined the effects of an eight-week conditioning program on the body mass index (BMI) of 50 male college students aged 17 to 23 years old. The students participated in conditioning exercises six days per week for one hour each session. BMI was measured before and after the eight weeks through pre- and post-tests. The results showed that the mean BMI decreased significantly from 25.66 to 24.30, indicating that participation in regular conditioning exercises can be effective for lowering BMI in college students.
This document outlines a proposed study investigating the effects of an after-school physical activity intervention on children's physical activity levels. The study would use a quasi-experimental design comparing an intervention group receiving the multi-component after-school program to a control group receiving usual after-school care. Physical activity would be directly observed at baseline and follow-up using the SOFIT protocol. The author hypothesizes that the after-school intervention will significantly increase physical activity levels in the intervention group compared to the control group.
This document summarizes a study that examined the effects of a 5-week cross-curricular physical education intervention on reception children's (ages 4-5) fundamental movement skills, physical activity, and weight status. The intervention incorporated lessons based on the story of "The Gruffalo" and assessed changes in these variables before and after for an intervention school compared to a control school. Key findings were that the intervention significantly improved children's fundamental movement skills and weekday physical activity, but did not significantly impact weight status or weekend physical activity. The intervention provides a model for using cross-curricular lessons to improve movement skills and physical activity in young children.
This document summarizes Michael McCorry's PhD research on interventions to reduce sedentary behavior in older adults. It outlines the objectives to systematically review literature on physical activity and behavioral interventions targeting sedentary time in older populations. A search of various databases retrieved over 19,000 records, which were screened according to PRISMA guidelines. 10 studies met the inclusion criteria and were reviewed in detail, finding mostly low quality evidence and small effect sizes of interventions. The purpose of this study is to understand how the language used by healthcare professionals in a cardiac rehabilitation exercise program impacts women's adherence to exercise after completing the program. The hypothesis is that women in a program led by transformational leaders, who build trust and motivation, will be more likely to continue exercising after the program than those in a neutrally-led program. The study will randomly assign women with cardiovascular disease to an experimental group with transformational leader training or a control with neutral training, and track their exercise for 3 months after the program via accelerometers and questionnaires.
This document provides an overview of Movement Education as an approach to teaching primary health and physical education. It discusses how Movement Education focuses on using movement as the central learning component, promoting student-centered and autonomous learning. It also describes how Movement Education develops problem-solving skills, teamwork, social/emotional skills, and a lifelong passion for physical activity. The presentation then discusses how Game Sense and fundamental movement skills are key components of Movement Education and provides examples of how they are implemented in a Year 3 class through games focusing on invasion, targeting, and decision-making skills while ensuring social inclusion. It argues that Movement Education takes a holistic approach to well-being and health in line with curriculum guidelines.
Effect of socio economic status on the effective students participation in ph...Dr. Mohammed Abou Elmagd
The socio-economic status make-up of an individual Influences habitual physical activity and plays an important role in one’s achievements in every field of life, including performance in sports. The current study aimed to assess the effect of socio-economic status determined by parental education and family income on the effective students’ participation in physical activity sessions at RAK Medical& Health Sciences University. The study demonstrated significant positive correlation between physical activity levels of the students and mother education (r=0.139, p=0.05) and family income (r = 0.182, p= 0.01), while father education had no significant effect on the level of students’ physical activity (r =0.030, p=0.676). Conversely, a significant negative correlation was noted between the physical activity levels of the students and number of family members (r = -0.130, p= 0.068). The study also revealed that the majority (114/198, 52%) of students were in the medium socio-economic status category. In addition, students with low socio-economic status were more likely to display low physical activity whereas students with high socio-economic status were more likely to display high physical activity.
For elderly patients at risk of falls in long-term care, a nurse-led exercise program aimed at improving strength and balance, conducted twice weekly for six months, may reduce fall incidence compared to no such program. The proposed program would train nurses to lead classes incorporating balance, coordination, gait, and lower body exercises shown to lower fall risks. Patients' balance, mobility, self-efficacy, and falls would be assessed before, during, and after the six-month intervention period.
Levels of Physical Activity Participation of the Staff of Universiti SelangorIOSR Journals
Abstract: This study is carried out to identify the levels of the Universiti Selangor (Unisel) staff’s participation
in physical activities. It aims to investigate the stages of their physical activities to determine whether these
activities are beneficial to them or otherwise. This study is a descriptive survey research of which the data has
been collected via questionnaire from 231 employees of Unisel in Bestari Jaya Campus. Respondents are asked
questions about their physical activities based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPIQ). The
findings reveal that many members of the staff of the Universiti Selangor practice physical activities as their
way of life. However, the level of their participation in physical activities has not reached a satisfactory level.
The respondents often carry out physical activities, but mostly their participation is still considered within the
range of average to low level. The respondents’ participation in physical activities is influenced by their attitude
which seeks acknowledgment rather than practicing it as a healthy lifestyle. The findings shows that the
employees’ physical activity participation is very high. However, they do not carry out the activities according
to the principles of physical activity domain. This study concludes that there are still many Unisel staff members
that seldom treat physical activities as their everyday routines. The findings show that 106 of the respondents
carry out physical activities at a low level, 49 of the respondents at the medium level and 76 of the respondents
at a high level. The findings are insufficient to establish that the respondents have carried out the best physical
activity practice. The results conclude that these Unisel staff members still need to be guided and educated in
order to ensure that their participation in physical activities becomes a healthy lifestyle that is led by the whole
community.

This document summarizes a study on the challenges and opportunities for physical activity among teaching and non-teaching personnel at selected state universities in Central Luzon, Philippines. The study found that non-teaching personnel reported higher levels of physical activity in their jobs compared to teaching personnel. Both groups reported high levels of physical activity in transportation, housework, and leisure, but also spent significant time sitting. The main challenges to physical activity were limited promotion programs, lack of tailored and individual programs, and limited links between work and external physical activity opportunities. The study concludes that workplace wellness programs could help address challenges and maintain existing high physical activity levels among university personnel.
AbstractThis informative report focuses on filling information.docxbartholomeocoombs
Abstract
This informative report focuses on filling information gaps regarding adherence to physical activity and exercise in the health care spectrum of older adults and an overview of the benefits of physical activity for OAs. Healthy People 2000, 2010, and 2020 are public health programs from the US Department of Health and Human Services that set national goals and objectives for promoting health and preventing disease. The programs include ten leading health indicators that reflect major health problems, which concern OAs. Exercise and physical activity are among the most important factors affecting health and longevity, but exercise adherence is a significant hindrance in achieving health goals in the elderly. Exercise adherence in OAs is a multifactorial problem encompassing many bio-psychosocial factors. Factors affecting adherence in the elderly include socioeconomic status, education level, living arrangements, health status, pacemakers, physical fitness, and depression. Improving adherence could have a significant impact on longevity, quality of life, and health care costs.
Keywords: Geriatric Medicine, Health Care, Health Professionals, Exercise Adherence
Introduction
Geriatric health care delivery is a major public health issue. Geriatrics refers to diagnosing and treating older adults (OA) with complex medical conditions and social problems. A recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO) stated, “OA are generally defined according to a range of characteristics including chronological age, change in social role and changes in functional capabilities. In high-resourced countries older age is generally defined in relation to retirement from paid employment and receipt of a pension, at 60 or 65 years. With increasing longevity some countries define a separate group of oldest people, those over 85 years. In low-resourced countries with shorter life-spans, older people may be defined as those over 50 years” (World Health Organization, 2010a). OA are the largest and fastest growing segment of the population, which present significant challenges to the health care system. Understanding the factors contributing to the health practices of OA is important for professionals, paraprofessionals, and paid and unpaid caregivers who need basic and continuing geriatric education to improve care. Adherence to physical activity and exercise programs is a critical but poorly understood area for promoting health and longevity.
The terms physical activity and exercise are often used interchangeably, but they are different. Physical activity involves movement produced by skeletal muscles that require energy from metabolism. It is grouped as occupational, sports, conditioning, household, or other activities. Exercise is a subset of physical activity that is planned, structured, and repetitive. It promotes health, fitness, and skill and the results of the program can be measured with specific tests (Caspersen, Powell, & Christenson, 1985; F.

Psaroudakis: Family and Football – The Psaroudakis Success StoryPsaroudakis
Psaroudakis, a name that resonates with football fans around the globe, is a testament to the powerful synergy between familial support and individual passion. Born on March 10, 1992, in the historic city of Heraklion, Crete, Psaroudakis’ journey to international football stardom is a compelling narrative of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering family support. His story not only highlights his athletic prowess but also underscores the crucial role his family played in shaping his career and character.
Psaroudakis’ early life in Heraklion was deeply influenced by a supportive and nurturing family environment. His father, a former semi-professional footballer, recognized Psaroudakis’ potential from an early age. Acting as his first coach, his father’s guidance was instrumental in igniting Psaroudakis’ passion for football. This paternal influence instilled in him a strong work ethic and fundamental skills that would become the foundation of his future success. His mother, a dedicated homemaker, provided a stable and nurturing environment, ensuring that Psaroudakis could pursue his dreams without any hindrances.
From a young age, Psaroudakis showed an innate talent for football. Growing up in Heraklion, he spent countless hours playing football in local parks and streets with friends and family. His natural ability was evident even in these informal settings, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious. By the age of five, Psaroudakis had joined a local youth football club, where his skills began to flourish. His father’s role as his first coach during these formative years was crucial, as he emphasized not only technical skills but also the importance of discipline and teamwork.
The transition from playing in local parks to joining a structured football environment marked a significant step in Psaroudakis’ journey. At the age of ten, he joined the youth academy of OFI Crete, one of Greece’s most esteemed football clubs. This move marked the beginning of a more rigorous and professional approach to his training. The academy environment was demanding, focusing on honing technical abilities and instilling values of sportsmanship and dedication. Psaroudakis’ dedication to his craft was evident as he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a standout player in the youth teams.
The support of Psaroudakis’ family was unwavering during this critical period. His father continued to be a source of guidance and mentorship, while his mother ensured that he had everything he needed to succeed. Their collective efforts created a balanced environment where Psaroudakis could focus entirely on his development as a footballer. This familial support was not just about providing the basics; it was about creating an environment where Psaroudakis felt encouraged and motivated to pursue his dreams relentlessly.
As Psaroudakis transitioned from the youth academy to professional football, the challenges became more significant.

Stages of exercise behavior change and perceived exercise benefits barriers among university students
1. Stages of Exercise Behavior Change and Perceived
Exercise Benefits/Barriers among University
Students
Yıldırım, A., Taş, H., Hürmeriç-Altunsöz, I.
Middle East Technical University
2. Introduction
The health benefits of physical activity (PA) participation are well-documented in
many systematic reviews (Warburton, & Bredin, 2017).
The World Health Organization recommends that "adults should do at least 150–
300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic PA" (Bull, et al., 2020, p. 1456).
However, sedentary behaviors are prevalent in many societies. Significantly,
individuals' PA level decreases during university years (Small, Bailey-Davis, Morgan,
& Maggs, 2013).
3. Introduction
It is crucial to find ways to support the PA level of university students.
Transtheoretical model is a useful framework for understanding individuals'
behavior changes in healthy habits (Kohl, Murroy, & Salvo, 2019).
This model indicates that individuals follow a series of stages: precontemplation,
contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance (Marcus & Lewis, 2003).
Corbin and his colleagues (2014) emphasize that the main aim is to support
individuals progress to the last stage, which might be challenging.
4. Purpose of the study
To examine the relationship between stages of exercise behavior change and
perceived exercise benefits/behaviors among university students.
To examine PA and screen time behaviors among the students.
5. Research Questions
1. What is the relationship between stages of exercise behavior change and perceived
exercise benefits/barriers among university students?
2. What is the role of physical activity participation on stages of exercise behavior
change and perceived exercise benefits/barriers among university students?
6. Methods
This study utilized a descriptive and correlational research design.
Participants were selected by using a purposeful sampling method.
66 undergraduate students participated in the study voluntarily (Female = 22, Male
= 44).
7. Methods
Instrumentation
Exercise Benefits/Barriers Scale (EBBS) (Sechrist, Walker, & Pender, 1987)
Turkish adaptation of the EBBS was done by Ortabağ, Ceylan, Akyüz, and Bebiş (2010)
Exercise Stages of Change Questionnaire (ESOCQ) (Marcus & Lewis, 2003)
Turkish adaptation of ESOCQ was performed by Cengiz, Aşçı, and İnce (2010)
A demographic information sheet
8. Methods
Data analysis
Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS 26.
Inferential analysis
Chi-square test for independence correlation.
A point-biserial correlation
An independent t-test
9. Results
The study results revealed that
30 students do regular PA
36 of them do not do regular PA
When considering their stages of change results,
4 students are in precontemplation stage,
25 students are in contemplation stage
13 of them are in preparation stage
8 of them are in action stage
16 students are in maintenance stage.
10. Results
The study results revealed that
Regular PA participation is significantly related to stages of change levels χ2 (4) =
43.207, p < .05.
It is found a positive correlation between stages of change and students' score in
the exercise benefits/barriers scale (rpb = .304, n = 66, p <.05).
Students participating in regular PA (M = 138.53, SD= 12.69) had high score in the
exercise benefits scale than the students who do not (M = 129.86, SD= 15.57), t
(64) = -2.448, p <.05, r2 = .08.
11. Conclusion
These findings might be useful to create policies in order to track university
students’ perceptions about physical activity and their stages of exercise behavior
change.
Physical activity interventions might be provided as a further step to increase
university students’ physical activity level based on the physical activity strategy for
the WHO European Region 2016–2025 (WHO, 2016) on university campuses.
