INFORMATION ON THE
NOMINATIONS PROCESS
The parish nominators Gabrielle Dean, Toni McAllen,
Chris Williams and Glen Swift, who will be attending the
first meeting of the Nominations Board, which has the
task of seeking a new Rector, would be interested to
hear your views. Please feel free to approach one of
the parish nominators for information on the process
(the proceedings of Nominations Board meeting are
confidential). We will hold a brief, prayerful meeting in
the chapel following morning tea on Sunday, 25
October 2020 to share information.
SEBASTIANA ON LEAVE
Sebastiana will be on sick leave from Sunday the 1st of
November to Tuesday the 10th of November to have
some skin cancers removed. John Dunnill has graciously
offered to preside on Sunday the 1st of November and
Sunday the 8th of November.
I'm sure I speak for all of the parish when I wish Rev
Sebastiana a full and swift recovery.

Tree of Life Programme in Christian
Spirituality, Spiritual Formation and
Spiritual Direction
A residential programme for lay people and clergy at the
St John of God Retreat House, Shoalwater
The Programme consists of four weekends per year for
four years, the fourth weekend in February, May, August
and November, at the St John of God Retreat Centre.
Each weekend consists of presentations, reflection,
discussion, case studies, sharing groups, practicum as well
prayer and regular worship in the Anglican tradition. The
programme allows participants to explore the Christian
Spiritual tradition, to engage in a process of spiritual
formation and to receive formation in the Ministry of
Spiritual Direction.

Sweep Clean the Rooms of Our Heart
In recent times the pandemic has affected us all. Some
people expressed how it mentally affected them, others
shared their joy for the quiet life. Most of us would have
experienced a mixture of experiences. The writings and spirit
of Thomas Merton can be a guide to shine light on the
multiple rooms and ways of our mind, heart and soul. The aim
of this reading group is to grow deeper into our personal
spirituality, into deepened inner freedom. The group is
suitable for everyone who has been put on a spiritual journey,
and wants to further explore the dialogue between our inner
and outer Source. Following Merton’s example, we will
practice self-reflection by ways of journal writing, and
creative journaling.

CONVERSATIONS SERIES

Every week, ISCAST (Christians in Science and Technology) will
host a presentation (or two) followed by conversation where
you are invited to attend and participate. We have lined up a
variety of talks on topics such as vaccinations, medical ethics,
the economy during COVID, species triage, science as art,
moral injury and the pandemic
Next Thursday's talk is "Uncovering the Finest Artworks in
Creation through Microscopy" with Dr Caleb Dawson from the
Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research
The conversations will be relaxed, friendly and lively. For
security reasons you need to register once for the series. On
the day of the conversations, you will receive details of how to
