2. Bull Moose Industries | Manufacturing: expanding
Caparo Group’s Bull Moose Industries, maker of metal tubing for construction, is spending $51 million to renovate and move headquarters into the Missouri Theatre
Building in Grand Center. Its North American headquarters will occupy 24,000 square feet, and the rest of the building will include offices, hotel rooms, and retail
space. Phase one should create upwards of 200 jobs, and a second phase is planned to spend $25 million on a 150-unit apartment building with a 500-car garage
next door.
Centene Corp. | Healthcare: expanding
Clayton-based healthcare giant Centene Corp. (NYSE: CNC) acquired Los Angeles-based Health Net for $6.8 billion and Oregon-based Trillium Community Health
Plan and Agate Resources for $80 million plus dividends. These West Coast acquisitions will help Centene establish a foothold in California’s Medicaid program and
allow Centene to expand into Medicaid and Medicare programs in Arizona, Oregon, and Washington states.
Forrest Innovations | Biotech: expanding
Israeli biotech company, Forrest Innovations, is moving its U.S. headquarters from Maryland to Creve Coeur’s BRDG Park on the Donald Danforth Plant Science
Center Campus. BioSTL’s St. Louis-Israel Innovation Connection recruited Forrest Innovations to St. Louis, and Missouri Works has promised incentives if Forrest
meets job-creation criteria.
Mercy | Healthcare: contracting
Mercy Hospital is cutting 300 to 500 jobs or 14 percent of leadership staff in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Downsizing will improve efficiency in
Mercy’s organizational structure in response to economic constraints related to healthcare reimbursement structures. Mercy is a nonprofit organization employing
40,000 people in 32 hospitals and 300 outpatient facilities.
Northwestern Mutual | Insurance: relocation
Northwestern Mutual is moving 100 employees out of Downtown St. Louis’ Gateway One building into 25,000 square feet at Creve Coeur Center IV at 622 Emerson
Road. The new office designed by Lawrence Group will be more efficient, closer to clients and representatives, and better situated to recruit new talent.
St. Louis College of Pharmacy | Education: expanding.23
By December 2016, St. Louis College of Pharmacy will have a new 7-story student center, residence hall, and recreation facility at the corner of Taylor Avenue and
Parkview Place. The 190,000 square-foot project requires demolishing the existing Whelpley Hall.

Continental Commercial Products | Manufacturing: contracting
As Continental Commercial Products, a subsidiary of Katy Industries (OTC: KATY), moves to Jefferson City, the company is laying off 155 employees by the end of
2015 at the current facility at 305 Rock Industrial Park Drive in Bridgeton.
Gateway Packaging | Manufacturing: expanding
St. Louis-based Gateway Packaging acquired Apex Bag Company based in Wapaknoeta, Ohio. The deal should triple Gateway’s volume. Gateway Packaging’s
corporate office occupies 650 square feet in Downtown St. Louis’ Deloitte Building, and the Granite City plant is a 117,245 square foot warehouse.
TAGG Logistics | 3PL: expanding
Hazelwood-based TAGG Logistics acquired ABC Fulfillment out of Pennsylvania adding their 48 clients, 17 employees, and 32,000 square feet in warehouse space
to TAGG’s current 75 employees in St. Louis and 200,000 square feet at Hazelwood Logistics Center. TAGG is moving toward the east coast to distribute e-
commerce orders faster.
