Alexander the Great was a student of Aristotle who became King of Macedonia at age 20 after his father Philip was murdered. In just 10 years, Alexander conquered one of the largest empires in history by defeating King Darius of Persia and expanding his empire across modern-day Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Egypt, and parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. However, his troops rebelled and refused to advance further into India, forcing Alexander to turn back. He established new cities and cultural centers to help govern his vast empire before mysteriously dying of illness at the young age of 33, after which his empire was divided among three of his generals.

South Korea is located in East Asia, bordering North Korea and China. Grains have historically been an important part of the Korean diet. While South Korea had never won a World Cup match until co-hosting in 2002, they went on to reach the semi-finals after defeating Poland, Portugal, Italy and Spain, ultimately losing to Germany. Their best World Cup performance remains the 2002 tournament where they finished fourth.

Christmas in Greece has both religious and festive aspects. Towns are decorated with lights, bells, and angels, while some decorate boats instead of trees in honor of Saint Nicolas. The Christmas season begins on December 6th and ends on January 6th. Shopping and caroling continue past December 25th, and Athens holds festivities in Syntagma Square under the largest Christmas tree in Europe. Traditions include goblins, hanging pomegranates, baking bread with crosses, eating cookies and cake with coins that predict luck, and blessing waters on January 6th by diving in. Villages provide a scenic setting for celebrating Christmas in Greece.
