Why grow our membership? Increase peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of our members. Promote attendance at our regional information security conferences and seminars. Create a larger forum for sharing leading practices within the profession and mentoring professionals world-wide.
What are our membership goals? The ISSA Board of Directors have set four membership growth goals: 12,000 world-wide paid memberships by 12/31/2006 16,000 world-wide paid memberships by 12/31/2007 2,500 non-USA world-wide paid memberships by 06/30/2006 4,000 non-USA world-wide paid memberships by 12/31/2007
Who is involved? All ISSA General Members ISSA’s largest category of membership is the  general member . General membership represents the largest cross-section of information security professions.
How does a General Member help? Recruit at least one new  general member  for the next two years with a chapter affiliation  Help the new member complete a written form or the on-line form at  www.issa.org/join.taf?_function=form   Complete the section: “referred by a member”
What are the incentives? For each group of 1000 new referred  general memberships , a general member and his recruit will receive an all expenses paid trip to a security conference including: Round trip airfare Hotel accommodations Information Security Conference Fees 300 US dollars for expenses Dinner with the ISSA Board of Directors (if attending a CISO Executive Forum) Picture and interview for the  ISSA Journal
Conference options are: ISSA CISO Forums in the USA ISSA Regional Conferences in Asia, Europe, or the Americas ASIS, CSI, ISACA, or RSA Conferences
How are the winners selected? Winners selected in a random drawing by a noted audit firm Drawing held after each group of 1000 new General Membership applications are received Potential Prize Winners will be notified within two weeks of selection

  • #2 For the next two years ISSA will conduct the “1+1” Membership program. The emphasis of the 1+1 Program is to retain current ISSA General Members and ask that they recruit one new general member each year for the next two years. The Entry Period began January 21, 2006, at 1400 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and will end December 31, 2007, at 2359 GMT. We begin with why we seek to grow our association’s general members.
