The Vardar River is the longest and most important river in Macedonia, measuring 388 km in length. It drains an area of approximately 25,000 square km and has a maximum depth of 4 meters. The Vardar or Axiosis the longest and major river in the Republic of
Macedonia and also a major river of Greece. It is 388 km long, and drains an
area of around 25,000 km2 The maximum depth of river is 4m. The Vardar
basin includes two-thirds of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. The
area is sometimes called "Vardar Macedonia" after the river, to distinguish it
from "Aegean Macedonia" (in Greece) and "Pirin Macedonia" (in Bulgaria).
Vardar is the longest and most important river in Macedonia. Its total length is
388 km, of which our country belongs to 301 km. There composite valley flow
in the middle of Gevgelija 144.9 cm ³ / s. On his way across the country
received 37 major tributaries, including 15 right and 22 on the left side. Among
them are significant: Pena, Lepenec, Pchinja, Bregalnica, fever, Markova
Reka Topolka, Babuna and Black River.
Vardar is sung in many songs. The songs sing about the joys of this river.
