This randomized controlled trial compared outcomes of patients receiving 7 days of antibiotics versus 14 days for uncomplicated gram-negative bacteremia. The study found no significant differences in mortality, readmissions, or relapse between the two treatment groups. However, the 7-day group had a shorter time to return to baseline activity. The study demonstrates that 7 days of antibiotics is non-inferior to 14 days for treating uncomplicated gram-negative bacteremia.
