This document provides instructions for installing and configuring Oracle SQL Developer and creating connections for a system user and HR user. It describes downloading and extracting the SQL Developer software, creating desktop shortcuts, and setting up new connections for the system and HR users. The steps include filling in connection information, testing the connections, setting a new password for the HR user, and running a test query as the HR user to validate the configuration.

to access the application
from the desktop.

(note: the shortcut name
was modified to
SQLDeveloper by the user)

In this warning click NO if the
installation is new. If you are
installing an upgrade be
careful to backup the older
files and then click YES. In this
installation NO is selected.

enter the correct data for
each fields.

Test button to verify
the connection to the

If all is correct the
system status will

user using the plus (+)
sign at the left side of
the database icon to
show all the objects
for this user.

In the System user objects,
expand the Other User
object to enable the User HR
to access the tables for the
SQL training.

In the HR user
object, right click the icon
and select the Edit User
link from the hidden
menu.

Enter the new
password for the user
and confirm it.Uncheck both, the
Password expired
and the Account is
Locked, check boxes.
