11. Paulinian Identity
A Paulinian is a man/woman rooted
in Christ. Impelled by Christ’s
love (charity), he/she uses
his/her gifts (charism) to
proclaim Christ and consciously
raise the quality of life around
(commitment to mission) in the
process.

and core of
Paulinian life.
Christ reveals the
Father to us and
leads us back to the
Father in the Spirit
within the Church.

The Christocentricity of Paul makes
him cling to the cross as a way to
Glory. This is Paschal Spirituality.
“I wish to know Christ and the power
flowing from His resurrection;
likewise to know how to share in
His sufferings by being formed
into the pattern of His death. “
(Philippians 3:10)
18. CHARITY
Christ’s love is the motivating force, the
power that drives the Paulinian, as
embodied in the Paulinian motto:
CARITAS CHRISTI URGET NOS!
Love is the highest gift that Paul
exhorts us to seek (1 Corinthians 13);
the law of the community which
bears the name of Christ, the
summary of all the commandments
(Romans 13:8, Philippians 2:1-5).
19. COMMISSION
The charity of Christ commissions
us to proclaim Him as the Good
News to all. The Paulinian is an
ambassador for Christ
(2 Corinthians 5:20),
servant and steward of the
mysteries of God
(1 Corinthians 4:1, 2 Corinthians 4:5).
20. COMMUNITY
The Paulinian contributes to the
building of the body of Christ which
is the Church, the community of all
who had been justified in Christ. All
of us, in union with Christ, form one
body, and as parts of it, we belong
to each other (Romans 12:6)
21. CHARISM
The Paulinian recognizes and
respects the gifts of people,
realizing that each gift is for a
different purpose but all for the
building of communities of faith,
hope and love (1 Corinthians 12-13)
