Football, more commonly known as soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players using a spherical ball on a rectangular pitch. The object is to score more goals than the opposing team by moving the ball beyond the goal line into the opponent's goal. Players mainly use their feet, legs, chest and head to pass or shoot the ball but cannot touch it with their hands. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied, either a draw is declared or extra time/penalties are used depending on the competition. It is governed by FIFA and is the most popular sport worldwide with over 250 million players in over 200 countries.
