Connection football, also known as soccer, is an internationally controlled sport played between two teams of 11 players using their feet and legs to pass a spherical ball into the opposing team's goal. The rules of the game were first standardized in England in 1864 and are now governed by FIFA, which oversees the World Cup competition held every four years. A game can end in a draw, be decided by penalty shootout, or have extra time added if the score is tied at the end of regulation.
