Planning Process
✴ We studied all about preschoolers and
development.
✴ Chose our buddies off a list randomly.
✴ We visit our buddy once every week to get to
know them and understand them.
✴ Based on what we know about them we
chose an activity we think all four of them
would like to do. Together we panned an
activity.

Lesson Plan
✴ Subject: Art
✴ Our Objective: To be able to create a
splatter paint box using creativity and
art skills.

the eyes or mouth.

Splatter Box
✴ Materials Needed: Paint (different
colors), paint brushes, rubber bands,
shoe boxes, paper, aprons
✴ We wrapped the rubber bands around
our shoe boxes and opened all the
paint.
✴ Soon we gave them brushes and they
would go to work running the brush
along the rubber bands and creating
splatters.Friday, May 1, 15
Reflection
✴ Positives:
✴ They were very excited as we said,
“Ready to get messy and paint?!”
✴ They got right to it and enjoyed it
✴ They girls wanted to keep painting
over and over with more paper.
✴ Level of Student Engagement:
Girl: High Boys: Low
Friday, May 1, 15
Reflection Cont.
✴ We understand our buddies more
✴ Our planning process took up a lot of
our time so it turned out better.
Friday, May 1, 15
Unexpected:
✴ The boys were not as excited to paint
as the girls were. They wanted to be
done.
✴ They girls were overjoyed with
happiness
✴ We did not get as messy as we
thought!
Friday, May 1, 15
Next Time
✴ Try and make it more educational and
enjoyable for the boys and make it
