Special education is an integral part of Romania's national education system. It is organized at all levels of pre-university education for students with mental, hearing, vision, or associated disabilities. In Bucharest, special education is provided in 19 special schools, including kindergartens, gymnasium schools, vocational schools, and schools for hearing and visually impaired students. Teachers use adapted methodologies and focus on differentiating and individualizing instruction to meet students' needs. Technology also plays an important role in supporting communication and learning for students with physical or sensory impairments.
