1) By 2050, the U.S. energy plan will rely primarily on renewable sources like geothermal, solar, wind, hydro, and natural gas. Non-renewables other than natural gas will be phased out. 2) Residential sectors will heavily utilize natural gas for home heating. Transportation will focus on solar and hydro. Geothermal and wind will power electrical and industrial sectors. 3) If this plan is implemented successfully, by 2050 the U.S. will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25.5% and carbon pollution by 4.5 billion metric tons compared to current goals. Renewable energy capacity and jobs will increase dramatically while reliance on foreign oil will decrease.
