2. The Sun
The sun is a massive, fiery ball of gas in space that lights up our day.
It's so big that more than a million Earths could fit inside it! The sun
provides us with heat and energy, making life on our planet possible.

3. Mercury
Mercury is the smallest
planet in our solar system
and the closest to the sun.
It has a rocky surface
covered in craters and can
get extremely hot during
the day and cold at night.
Mercury doesn't have an
atmosphere like Earth,
and it zips around the sun
faster than any other
planet!

4. Venus
Venus is the second planet from the sun and is often called
Earth's "sister planet" because they are similar in size. It has a
thick atmosphere made mainly of clouds, creating a
greenhouse effect that makes Venus extremely hot. The
surface is rocky, with many volcanoes and mountains, making
it a fascinating but challenging place for exploration.

5. Earth
Earth is our home planet,
full of diverse landscapes
like oceans, mountains,
and forests. It's the only
known place in the
universe where life exists,
with a cozy atmosphere
that provides the air we
breathe. Earth spins on its
axis, giving us day and
night, and orbits the sun,
creating seasons for us to
enjoy!

6. Mars
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and is often called the
"Red Planet" due to its rusty-colored surface. It has towering
volcanoes, deep canyons, and a thin atmosphere. Scientists
are curious about Mars and hope to explore it to learn more
about the possibility of life beyond Earth.

7. Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, known
for its vibrant bands of clouds and the Great Red Spot,
a giant storm. It has a strong magnetic field and many
moons, the largest of which is Ganymede. Jupiter is a
gas giant, made mostly of hydrogen and helium, and its
immense size makes it a captivating celestial giant!

8. Saturn
Saturn is the sixth planet from the
sun and is famous for its stunning
ring system made of ice and rocks. It
is a gas giant, mainly composed of
hydrogen and helium. Saturn also
has many moons, including Titan,
which has thick clouds and lakes of
liquid methane, making it a unique
and fascinating place in our solar
system!

9. Uranus
Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun and is known for
its blue-green color. It's an ice giant with a frigid atmosphere
made of hydrogen, helium, and methane. Uranus is unique
among the planets because it rotates on its side, making it
appear to roll along its orbit.

10. Neptune
Neptune is the eighth and
farthest planet from the sun,
with a beautiful deep-blue hue.
It's an ice giant, featuring strong
winds and the fastest winds in
the solar system. Neptune has a
mysterious dark spot and a thick
atmosphere composed of
hydrogen, helium, and traces of
methane, creating a fascinating
and chilly world!
