This also has to connect with my final project on disability I will attach other assignments that have been done to help
Submit a slide show presentation summary of the policy proposal you created from last week's Discussion. Be sure to incorporate feedback from your colleagues. Make sure that your summary presentation provides a solid rationale for the passage of your policy, using reputable sources from experts in the field. This should be a simulation of a summary presentation you would make to "real-world" policy leaders, so make sure you are succinct and informative. You can include any visual aids that you think help your presentation.
Bullet points used on slide show and attach a transcript so I can do a voice over everything cited intext and full references
The slideshow can only take 4–5 minutes and no more than 6 minutes.
Make sure that your assertions are supported by appropriate research and reputable resources.
Last weeks discussion and responses
Problem
Iris a 78-year-old divorced lady who lives alone and relies on a pension from the pace she used to work as an elementary teacher and the social security retirement benefits. Two years ago her husband divorced her for a younger woman and Iris was not blessed with any child. Iris is forgetful, old, and in need of someone to talk to despite claiming to be independent. Iris is also going through depression because of being divorced by her husband abruptly in the last two years and also because she misses her independence because she now needs to stay in a facility that can provide care for her as it gets harder for her to take care of herself. This paper will look into a policy that can help Iris control and take care of herself.
Solution
One of the ways of helping Iris is to provide a way in which she can have company. A policy that will provide or extend the civic engagement of adults will go a long way into helping Iris to extend her stay at the facility she was sent to. This policy should help improve her wellbeing because she feels loneliness because Iris is still dealing with the divorce, she went through which happened abruptly without warning. Policymakers should ensure this is considered so as to give her and other older people at the center time to heal and focus on their health rather than missing home (Zarbo, et al, 2017). The policy should also focus on restructuring health care systems so that those who receive low pensions and retirement benefits can get something that will help them receive proper medical aid. The medical care system should search for ways to increase financial incentives especially for those from low-income families so that they can be able to access medical aid that encompasses a variety of medications. For instance, Iris cannot use the money she gets as a pension to pay for all her medical bills as well as the bills waiting for her at home because she obviously left a house when s.

Infinity Hospice follows the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). The NHPCO offers professionals in hospice care a ‘Guide to Organizational Ethics in Hospice Care as a resource to hospice programs and professionals” (NHPCO, 2016). The organization’s core policies are driven by their values and mission statement. Infinity Hospice priority is to enhance their patient’s quality of life and help them live in dignity and comfort. They offer ‘dependability’ to the patient and to their loved one during their time of need for 24/7 care. Infinity Hospice Care’s mission is to bring comfort and value to our community. Our core values guide our team in providing the best family hospice and palliative care possible. If you and your family find balance with our mission and core values, we encourage you to speak to us.
The organizations second core policy is having a trusting team of experts. They have an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, counselors, and volunteers who work together to support each patient and their family. To accomplish this, Infinity Hospice provides the following hospice home services:
Medical care
Pain management needs
Spiritual counseling
Bereavement and grief counseling
Medical supplies and durable equipment
Every two weeks, all professionals from each discipline meet to discuss cases to find solutions for the challenges to the patients care. The third policy is ‘a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others.’ This organization understands that at times caring for an individual and providing a supportive system to their family will mean going above and beyond care standards to deliver excellence. Infinity Hospice policy is committed to making the patient’s life better through the following actions:
Assess each patient’s pain and comfort during each in house hospice visit
Attentively listen and take action on family needs
Continually search for creative ways to enhance your loved one’s quality of life
Nurture the desire to make a difference in our team’s lives by supporting a healthy work/life balance
Unavoidably in healthcare there are policy implication and barriers that arise in care. Infinity is driven to enrich the lives of those who are at the end-of-life. However, barriers to Medicaid, Medicare and in the state of Nevada, Culinary Health insurance all have their own policies in which patient eligibility often factors into their quality of life. Social workers could greatly improve the effectiveness of policy and service efforts designed.

Cultural Competency and Treatment of persons with mental illness
The culturally diverse forensic population that I chose to research is those who are mentally ill. This population is of particular interest to me because I have always wanted to work in agencies that do an intervention for members of this population and I have always felt that something should be done when I find helpless people on the streets who are mentally ill. Mentally ill persons can be described using characteristics which cut across the population but lean mostly to the side of those who have an extreme mental illness. Most of them experience financial distress, homelessness, lack of money to rent houses and dependence of social programs like social security. Others have violent behavior and remain dependent on mental services for a long time (Naylor et al., 2016). The mentally ill often commit small crimes and because of their health situation, they find themselves in difficult situations. According to Rickwood, 2006, mentally ill persons going through corrections procedures often suffer more psychological problems and this limits their chances of recovery.
The Unique Characteristics of Mentally Ill Patients
Rickwood explores the representation of the mentally ill in the criminal justice system. According to Rickwood, the mentally ill are over three times more represented in the criminal justice compared to the ordinary community and this is something of concern. In certain cultures, more persons who have a mental illness live in correction facilities compared to others. However, incarceration is seen to be a major cause of mental health problems due to some of the corrective measures that are employed. Depression among Hispanics is noted to be highest at slightly over 10%, followed by African Americans than Whites (Corin, 2017) Depression cuts across all age groups and genders in the recent past. According to Rickwood there is need to ensure that specialized and professional mental health services are provided in correctional facilities to ensure that the correction process does not negatively impact the victims. pre-release preparation and post-release follow-up are key areas that need a proper overhaul to ensure that the number of cases of relapse is reduced accordingly. Proper understanding of the cultural background of a patient is a major consideration in choosing treatment procedures and it ensures that the health service provider is cult rally aware of the implications of certain choices on certain groups of people. Cultural considerations affect beliefs about sickness, pain and where.

This week we explore the social-ecological model and the Swearer and Hymel (2015) article does a nice job of describing this model as applied to the problem of bullying. In working on your social change project this week you will be applying the social-ecological model to the topic you are addressing for your social change portfolio/project. The levels addressed in the social-ecological model in this article include individual, family, peer group, school, and community. Because of this specific topic, school is an important dimension. However, this dimension may not apply to your specific social change project depending on the target population. Thus, if "school" does not apply then you can simply have individual, family, peer group, and community. "Peer group" .
Tips for mastering the write-ups There rarely exist right answeTakishaPeck109
Tips for mastering the write-ups:
There rarely exist right answers to these questions. That’s what makes the prompts interesting,
useful, and fun (we hope). Good write-ups will always reflect a solid understanding of the
material but more importantly you should be able to apply the concepts to the prompt. This means
that you should not provide definitions and examples from the reading, but instead figure out
what concepts are relevant and how they apply to this business situation.
The following are a few tangible, specific tips based on years of grading write-ups. I offer them to
you in roughly decreasing order of how frustrating their violations are to a grader.
1. Don’t regurgitate the reading. You never need to waste space including definitions from the
reading. Write as if your audience not only has read the assigned materials but also knows
them well. When necessary, cite a concept as briefly as possible. The fact that you’ve done
the reading should be revealed to us by your thinking, NOT by some quotation.
2. Start quickly and end abruptly. For these short write-ups, introductions, background, and
conclusions are entirely unnecessary. Even worse, they take away space that is better used in
other ways. We don’t expect these things to read like English essays. Nor are we strangers to
why you’re writing in the first place. Treat it like an email to a colleague and jump right in.
3. Choose specific over abstract. Precision is good. It’s good for communication, and it’s good
for sharpening thinking. When you feel yourself getting fuzzy, think to yourself: I need an
example. We love examples. Make it real.
4. Be realistic. There is nothing more irritating than a cute suggestion (for example, of how an
organization might mitigate a particular bias) that works theoretically but is utterly infeasible
in the real world. Perhaps the best criterion is to ask yourself if you’d be willing to sit in a
manager’s office advocating his or her use of your recommendation.
5. Less is more. Believe it or not, a common mistake is to include too many ideas — not
because too many ideas itself is bad, but because these ideas, as intriguing, tantalizing, and,
yes, right as they might be, are often too poorly developed. Don’t make this mistake! We’re
not impressed with laundry lists. It’s much better to write about a few things really well.
Oh, and have fun! This is an opportunity to be creative (the risk-reward tradeoff for creativity is
very attractive). A student who is thoughtful and having fun when writing these is generally going
to do pretty well. And get more out of it. Thanks!

For the Research Assignment, I have chosen to focus on an area of Healthcare that rarely gets the
attention it deserves Mental health. I
chose this topic because I am personally effected by it and so are many millions of Americans. Mental illness is also one of the leading causes of
death in our nation and one life is lost as a result of suicide, abuse or incarceration every 17mins in the United States. Mental illness has been my
area of focus throughout this program and the advocacy and participatory philosophy will be useful for the final project because it suggests that “
that research inquiry needs to be intertwined with politics and a political agenda” (Creswell, p.9). I do believe that mental health has a specific
agenda for a study and that there has been constant aim for reform in healthcare and mental health. This social issue is definitely pertinent right
now and topics that address it such as “empowerment, inequality, oppression, domination, suppression, and alienation” (Creswell, p.9), and are
really the focus of the study. The goal of this project for me, is to provide a voice to participants and give them the ability address the concerns that
will lead to reform.
According to Kemmis and Wilkinson (1998) this philosophy offers four key features of the advocacy/participatory framework of inquiry:
1. Participatory actions are focused on bringing about change, and at the end of this type of study, researchers create an action agenda for change.
2. It is focused on freeing individuals from societal constraints, which is why the study begins with an important issue currently in society.
3. It aims to create a political debate so that change will occur.
4. Since advocacy/participatory researchers engage participants as active contributors to the research, it is a collaborative experience.
Research Problem Statement
My Vision is to Provide members of the community with the opportunities and education needed to prevent death due to suicide, acts of self-harm
and the traumatic impact of mental illness. By promoting resilience, the enhancement of community resources, conflict resolution and support for
individuals, families and the communities of those who suffer with mental disorders, illness or have a sudden mental health crisis. The target
population includes all individuals within Chatham County, with unmet mental health needs. These individuals are currently not being served by
traditional methods due to financial, structural, and personal barriers including access and stigma. Untreated mental health issues of these
individuals put them at risk for exacerbation of physical health problems, suicide attempts, premature moves to long-term care se.

Discussion: Policies and Social Problems
Why is it important for social workers to understand policy? When you think of policies, you may tend to think of the federal policies that support services such as Medicare and state policies that support education and welfare services. However, sometimes the policies that have the greatest impact on clients are the policies of agencies and organizations.
Note
: An "agency or organizational policy" is a policy. For example, it might be part of a county welfare agency that requires an administrator at a juvenile correction facility to report any individual that is an illegal immigrant that comes to that facility.
In this Discussion, you will identify a policy at an agency or organization with which you are familiar. It can be a public agency, a for-profit human service provider, or a not-for-profit community agency. Describe the organization, the policy, and the social problem it addresses.
By Day 3

Be sure to support your post with specific references to this week's resources. If you are using additional articles, be sure to pro ...
ACT implementation may include a variety of
community stakeholders as well as both local and state
health authorities. If an organization is providing
effective ACT services, many systems which interface
with ACT clients (e.g., behavioral healthcare, primary
healthcare, criminal justice) have an investment in the
outcomes generated by ACT, because clients will not
be showing up in those systems as frequently. Courts,
hospitals, managed-care companies, and the local
mental health authority all interact with the
individuals you are serving. Therefore, it is important
to engage these key stakeholders in the
implementation process.

ACT implementation may include a variety of
community stakeholders as well as both local and state

effective ACT services, many systems which interface
with ACT clients (e.g., behavioral healthcare, primary
healthcare, criminal justice) have an investment in the
outcomes generated by ACT, because clients will not

RE: APPLICATION FOR FUND-RAISING ACTIVITY SUPPORT
To Whom this may concern:
I am a case manager at For-Profit Organization working on a Group Home Grant Project whose called “No Child Left Behind” and the main aim is to provide financial support to adulthood attained children with no financial support and providing support to facilities of children who ail on chronic diseases such as asthma, Aids and diabetes. My aim in writing this letter is to request for financial assistance that will raise funds which will enable my project to be a success.
After doing a lot of research I have found that an increased number of children spend sleepless nights out on cold environment and since they are innocent children they all require a safe and secure place that will build their future. Some of the children in the resident placements have no family or any other kind of basic support and due to this am pleading for any kind of funding from families who are willing to be foster parents to these children.
Most of the children are aging out of foster care and turning the age of 21, coming out to the world with no education or job experience will lower their self-esteem. My project aims at building a lot of group places or homes for these children where they will obtain an independent living hence equipping them with ways of being dependent.
Looking at the number of groups' home around, I discovered there are no group homes of the females and only a limited number for the male. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to give us a call Monday-Friday from 8:30am- 5:00p. We can also be reached via email at [email protected] I hope a lot of agencies, and companies, families looking forward to being foster parents and other aiders will come out and help towards my project.
Looking forward to your kind consideration and support. Thank you.
Yours Faithfully,
Arroxxiccia Thomas

Introduction
The program is meant to help women and children overcome domestic violence. These two groups are the ones that are mostly affected by domestic violence. The program was began in 1984 by the Fayette County’s Human Services Council (Stanley et al., 2013). This was after the rise in the cases of domestic violence in the county. Data will be collected from various families to make informed decisions. The interventions will include psychological counseling to enable the victims to have mental stability. Besides, there are those victims who have offered to house them so that they can have a safe place to stay. People who have gone through domestic violence can have difficulties living with others if not helped.
It is an experience that is traumatizing and has severe consequences on their mental status. Being extremely stressed is a major cause of concentrating on work. Thus, those adults who are undergoing domestic violence cannot be productive as they used to be there before. It means that they can get dismissed due to poor performance. Thus, the best thing is to seek psychological counseling first to perform well at work (Bartels, 2012). As for children, they do poorly when stressed due to fights at home. They cannot have peace of mind, and also, they do not get enough sleep. It is why they sleep in class when the teacher is teaching. Domestic violence affects children significantly since their brains are not mature to go through such situations.
Program Participants
The direct participants in the program will include the victims, the counselors, and the people offering material support. The victims are expected to be open and give real information regarding g what they have been going through. They will cooperate with the ones helping them to get helped. The counselors are expected to listen to the victims and help them accept themselves. The counselors are supposed to be empathic to assist the victims in overcoming the stress. As for the well-wishers, they provide help, usually in the form of money or other items. For example, they can offer shelter for those who have been left homeless due to domestic violence. Others can offer to employ victims of domestic violence or start businesses for them. Hence, they will have a source of income to cater to their needs.
Program Outcomes
Needs that the Program was created to Address
The program was created to address the psychological needs of domestic violence victims. These victims need to be helped to bounce back from stressful situations. The counselors will be non-judgmental when talking with these victims, for them to say all that has been affecting them. There is no way the victims can be helped if they do not talk about the whole problem (Royse et al., 2013). The counselors will utilize the rights skills to be of help to the victims. [u04d2] Unit 4 Discussion 2
ntroduction
The article that the learner selected that addresses a real-world the problem is residential care placement of young children in rural areas. The concern is that these children should be in foster homes instead they are not receiving adequate treatments and have been found to learn different behaviors from other children. 80 percent of children who are in state custody are put in residential facilities are often found to have both mental and behavioral health problems
(Rishel, Morris, Colyer & Gurley-Calvez, 2014).
These children who are removed from their homes are often place in facilities outside of their state, hand have limited stability academically. This article strives to identify efficient components that assist in the residential placement of young children and discover ways to support the needs of children mentally and behaviorally. The residential placement of children should be address through the multidiscipline approach and include a collaboration of professionals.
Body
As a human service professional in order to address the issue of residential care placement amongst young children, I must first be aware of the five competencies of the multidisciplinary approach: gathering information, synthesizing ideas, collaborating, conceptualizing a course of action and communicating. Gathered information would be obtain through perspectives in a conference from professional who work closely with the placement procedure to get their views on the effectiveness of residential placement and determine if it is cost effective. Some of these professionals who would be included in the dialogue would be involve Child Protective Services, caseworkers, residential counselors, judge, lawyers and psychiatrist who represent the children in various settings and environments such as the court room, residential facility or office buildings. These professionals questioned about their role and the part they play in their placement.
During this collaboration foster care and referral policies, placement plans, monitoring protocols and rehabilitation would be analyzed to determine if children who need proper mental and behavioral health problems are getting fair and appropriate treatment. The recommend course of action would be to lower the amount of young children being place in residential placement. Focusing on meeting the children’s needs during the early years of their life and including the family as a whole will prevent behavioral and mental problems from happen so frequently and allow these children to remain home with their families. Good evening,
Stakeholders in the non-profit sector may slightly different from the for-profit sector due to the way in which the organizations are set up. Based on a study from 2019, the nonprofit sector is the 3rd largest workforce in the US (Wang, 2021). This study proves that the need for stakeholders are abundant in the nonprofit sector just as they are in the for-profit sector. Wang (2021) also noted that people are drawn to non-profit organizations because of their mission or vision of such organization. Similar to for profit organizations, it is important to support the stakeholder theory where organizations plan according to the stakeholders needed, but often times internal stakeholders such as employees, are often over-worked and underpaid. External stakeholders, such as volunteers, are at a high currently (Mato-Santiso, Rey-García, & Sanzo-Pérez, 2019). It is just as important to include volunteers in planning for stakeholders as well. Volunteers are the main different in a non-proft and for-profit organization. Non-profits often rely on volunteers to help in many different ways, whereas for-profit generally do not have nearly as many volunteers.
Personally, I used to volunteer with the Urban Ministries and Samaritans Purse. When I went in as a volunteer I was always given instructions on what to do, where to be, and was able to ask questions as needed. There were committees or leaders that were very organized and knew exactly where volunteers were needed and the tasks that needed attending to.

Stakeholders are those with a moral claim or interest in business practices and system processes. They influence decision-makers behavior and involve themselves in product delivery and how products or services affect system norms. Prioritizing and engaging stakeholders is crucial for sustainability. Stakeholder management determines how to engage stakeholders and identify their interests, degree of relevance, authority, and legitimacy (Manetti & Toccafondi, 2014).

Issue Statement
When people are released from prison, they face an environment that is difficult to navigate, designed to keep them from becoming useful members of their communities. Most ex-offenders are arrested again within three years of their release, with a majority of 77 percent of instances occurring within five years. As the nation's prison population approaches 2 million inmates, recidivism is becoming an issue for both convicts' families and society (Bhandari, 2019). This explains why social reintegration is one of the biggest social problems in the United States. Re-incarceration and unsuccessful re-entry have a devastating impact on communities, families, and individuals. Ex-offenders and those recently released from prison are the most vulnerable populations to this social problem. It is vital to have a thorough grasp of the science of offender reintegration since efficient reintegration of offenders is crucial to crime reduction.
The need for change
After being released from prison, offenders are pushed into a new environment that is very different from their previous one, and many struggle to adapt. Aside from that, due to the dynamic and the always-changing environment, ex-offenders who have spent considerable time in prison are liberated into an environment vastly different from their prior surroundings. This is a serious impediment to criminals' reintegration back into society. Furthermore, re-entry into the workforce is a significant challenge to overcome for persons who have served time in jail. Previously imprisoned individuals have difficulties getting and maintaining employment after being released from prison due to employers' apprehension about hiring people with criminal histories (Weber, 2021). Many offenders have no formal education or work experience, making it strenuous to obtain gainful employment. According to studies, about 60% of criminals and ex-offenders are high school dropouts.
In the aftermath of their imprisonment and engagement with the criminal justice system, many ex-inmates are perceived unproductive and risky by former employers and members of their old professional networks, assuming they ever had one. When ex-convicts combine a restricted professional network with a glaring gap in their resume, it may be very difficult for them to get an interview with a potential employer. An estimated 70 percent of previously jailed males have a history of drug misuse, and a large number of them suffer from physical and mental health problems (Petrich et al., 2022). As a result, employers may not consider them "work-ready," so restricting their employability. The prospect of being sued for damages resulting from "negligent hiring" is a source of anxiety for many firms. Given the possibility that a firm could be held responsible for exposing the employees to a potentially harmful individual, many companies are wary of hiring someone who has a criminal ...

Competence includes knowing and abiding by the NASW Code of Ethics. The competent social worker knows the six values (service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence) and their ethical principles (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). They know them, but also understand and practice them. They also know, understand and practice the Social Workers’ Ethical Responsibilities to clients, colleagues, in practice settings, as professionals, to the social work profession and to the broader society (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). They are comfortable enough with the Code of Ethics to know when they need to reach out to a mentor, to ask for clarification in a sticky situation. They have the strength to uphold the Code of Ethics and to confront a colleague when their actions are in question.
Competence means working within the boundaries of what you know and are licensed to practice. This also includes acknowledging when you do not know enough and need to pass a client or duty on to another that is better qualified. As a licensed social worker, you are able to perform certain tasks. There are other tasks that you cannot ethically perform until you are a licensed clinical social worker. The competent social worker knows what they are capable of doing and what they are not.

Competence in social work means to abide by your regions Code of Ethics as well as upholding the law to the highest professional degree. Competent practice protects the integrity of the social work profession and the rights of our clients to appropriate and beneficial service. It also means that as social workers, we have the responsibility to use critical thinking and decision making skills to properly assess and utilize all resources available for the betterment of our unique clients. To do this, a social worker must be conscientious and aware of his or her own barriers to competence in order to overcome them. An example of such a barrier can include lack of experience with a particular group, or the acknowledgment of personal bias to be set aside for the sake of their practice. I think that it is important to realize that social workers are diverse, and will inevitably come across potential challenges to practicing competently. These are the situations which determine a social workers ability to commit to their profession ...

Treatment Plan TemplatePART A
Instructions: Use this template to create a treatment plan. Provide your response to each area in the box below:
I. Identify a list of problems reported to you by the client and/or caregiver(s).
II. As you are able, identify a provisional primary psychiatric diagnosis you believe may be present and may need to be addressed. (Note: Refer to the DSM-5 for diagnostic criteria for specific problems listed.)
III. Identify the level of care needed to address the presenting problem(s). This could include:
a. Inpatient
b. Residential treatment
c. Partial hospitalization
d. Intensive outpatient counseling
e. Outpatient counseling
IV. Identified strengths: When identifying goals, include strengths that will help client achieve long-term goal(s) (e.g., supportive family). Client should help identify strengths. Initially, it may be difficult to help client identify more than one or two strengths, but as the course of treatment continues, more should become evident.
V. Identified problems/deficits: Includes factors in client’s life that may impede successful recovery.
VI. Explain one treatment intervention you might use in the case you selected and justify the use of the intervention. Next select a treatment modality— individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, or a combination of these. Support your recommended intervention and modality with evidence from scholarly resources.
(Note: Consider researching evidence-based treatments or treatment outcomes that you can use to help guide your recommendations for treatment.)
VII. Identify and describe how you will tailor the treatment to the client’s unique individual and cultural background.
VIII. Explain how you would involve the parents/guardians in the treatment plan and why their involvement might be important.
PART B:
Based on the answers provided above, create a treatment plan by describing the counseling goals in the most measurable way possible (e.g., how will you and the client be able to recognize that the problem has been reduced or the goal has been partially or completely met?). Dudley (2014) points out that social work practice is usually embedded in programs. While you looked at practice evaluation using single-subject design in Week 3, this week, you shift focus to program evaluation. Program evaluation serves many purposes, including accountability to funders and to the public. Often, funding sources such as government agencies or private foundations requires periodic program evaluations. These evaluations can help provide answers to many different questions, and can contribute to improvement of services. There are a variety of program evaluation models that are appropriate for addressing different questions as well as facilitating the collection and analysis of many different types of data.
To prepare for this Discussion, identify a program within an agency with which you are familiar, which could benefit from process evaluation and outcome evaluation. You do not need to identify the agency in your post. Also, review the different evaluation models highlighted in this week’s resources (

Needs assessments are a form of research conducted to gather information about the needs of a population or a group in a community (Tutty & Rothery, 2010, p. 149). One purpose of a needs assessment is to explore in more depth whether a new program within an organization or agency is needed (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Key questions of this type of needs assessment may revolve around: (1) whether there are enough prospective clients to warrant this type of program, (2) the different activities or programs that the respondents would be interested in using, priorities for some activities over others, (3) importance of the activities, and (4) times in which this program would be desired and used (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Potential barriers for the implementation of a new program should also be assessed to ensure the best possible outcome. Some barriers to services could include factors such as: location, costs, potential need for fees, and possible psychological issues related to such things. The following is an assessment of an intensive outpatient program for youth, and a potential need that is currently being unmet.
Post a needs assessment plan for a potential program of your choice that meets a currently unmet need. Describe the unmet need and how current information supports your position that a needs assessment is warranted.

Assignment: Planning a Needs Assessment II
One of the many reasons social workers conduct needs assessment is to provide support for new programs. Social workers have many methods available to collect necessary data for a needs assessment.
Social workers can use existing data from a wide range of sources, including local and national reports by government and nonprofit agencies, as well as computerized mapping resources. Social workers can gather new data through interviews and surveys with individuals and focus groups. This data can provide the evidence that supports the need for the program.
To prepare for this Assignment, review the needs assessment plans that you and your classmates generated for this week’s Discussion. Also, review the logic models that you created in Week 7 and any literature on needs of caregivers that you used to generate them. Consider the following to stimulate your thinking:
Getting information about the needs of the target population:
Who would informants be?
What is your purpose for interacting with them?
What questions would you ask?
What method would you use (interview, focus group, questionnaire)?
Finding potential clients:
Who would informants be?
What is your purpose for interacting with them?
What questions would you ask?
What method would you use?
Interacting with the target population:
Who would informants be?
What is your purpose for interacting with them?
What questions would you ask?
What method would you use?
Submit
a 2- to 3-page paper outlining a hypothetical needs assessment related to the support group program for caregivers. Include the following:
The resources needed to operate this service
The program activities
The desired outcomes
A plan for gathering information about the population served
Justifications for your plans and decisions
A one-paragraph conclusion describing how you might conduct a follow-up to the needs assessment at the implementation stage of the program evaluation

Complete row 3 in the template below. Identify 1-3 long-term goals and the associated short-term goals, objectives, strategies, and expected outcomes.
Long-Term Goal(s):

All questions in bold then answers 300 to 500 words without questions
Also, review the different evaluation models highlighted in this week’s resources (
needs assessment, program monitoring, client satisfaction study, outcome evaluation, or cost benefit study).

Explain the potential benefits of the program evaluation that you proposed (both process and outcome).
The process benefits of monitoring the program helps with determining the strengths and weaknesses of the service program that is being implemented. It helps to discover ways to improve program services for the most effective outcomes. Additionally, monitoring the program presents accountability to ensure effectiveness and integrity of the program. “Program monitoring typically uses many different types of data-collection strategies, such as questionnaires given out to clients or staff members, individual and group interviewing of staff and clients, observations of pro-grams and specific interactions between staff members and clients, reviews of existing documents such as client files and personnel documents, and consulting experts (Dudley, 2014) (p.73).”
Identify 2–3 concern.

SOCW 6311 wk 6 assignment: Developing a Program Evaluation
To ensure the success of a program evaluation, a social worker must generate a specific detailed plan. That plan should describe the goal of the evaluation, the information needed, and the methods and analysis to be used. In addition, the plan should identify and address the concerns of stakeholders. A social worker should present information about the plan in a manner that the stakeholders can understand. This will help the social worker receive the support necessary for a successful evaluation.
To prepare for this Assignment, identify a program evaluation you would like to conduct for a program with which you are familiar. Consider the details of the evaluation, including the purpose, specific questions to address, and type of information to collect. Then, consider the stakeholders that would be involved in approving that evaluation. Review the resources for samples of program evaluations.
Submit the following:
A 1-page stakeholder analysis that identifies the stakeholders, their role in the agency and any concerns that they might have about the proposed program evaluation
A 2- to 3-page draft of the program evaluation plan to submit to the stakeholders that:
Identifies the purpose of the evaluation
Describes the questions that will be addressed and the type of information that will be collected
Addresses the concerns of the stakeholders that you identified in your Stakeholder Analysis

Using one of the direct quotes and/or photos from Knight et al.’s study, analyze it by drawing up a tentative meaning.
The quote I selected to analyze for this discussion post is:
“[The homeless shelter administrator] told me I would find a place [through a subsidized program] if I work with them. And they did find me a lot of places, but I didn’t want to go, because [those] SROs they have now are really nasty. Really tore up, tore down. Syringes in the bathroom. Blood on the toilet. Because you use the same toilet that everybody else uses. So it wasn’t sanitized. So I didn’t want to go. And I found the Martin Hotel and I went in and it was a really clean, nice place. So I went back to [the shelter] and I asked them ‘Can you please get me a place inside that hotel?’ They said that would be cool, they would work on it. And within two, three weeks I had a place at the Martin.” (Knight, Lopez, Comfort, Shumway, Cohen, & Riley, 2014).
This quote reflects a woman who expressed her need and desire to have an SRO that met her mental health needs. Rather than accepting the first available room, she chose to work with the shelter administrator to find a more suitable place. This quote depicts the impact that an SRO can have on a woman’s mental health and how the environment can exacerbate their physical and emotional health.
Discuss how this would specifically inform one intervention recommendation you would make for social work practice with the homeless. This recommendation can be on the micro, meso.

Identify strengths in their analyses and strategies for presenting evaluation results to others.
You provided an insightful analysis of this particular process evaluation, and it seems that you were able to design a comprehensive presentation guideline. I agree with your tactic to break the presentation up into categories, and the categories you have selected seem to address the major components of the program, the evaluation itself, and the findings of said evaluation. You also provided a great analysis and summary of the PATHS program. The purpose of the program is clear, and the overarching purpose of the evaluation was made clear in your synopsis as well.
Identify ways your colleagues might improve their presentations.
You addressed outcome measures very well, however, there may have been some lacking information in regards to overall evaluation methods as a whole. Addressing factors such as who was collecting the data, how they were trained, how their training or standing could limit potential bias, and similar information. This may be an important piece of information that could help to provide audience members with a better understanding of the evaluation processes as a whole.
Identify potential needs or questions of the audience that they may not have considered.
As mentioned by Law and Shek (2011), this program was designed and facilitated in Hong Kong, Chi.

Post an interpretation of the case study’s conclusion that “the vocational rehabilitation intervention program may be effective at promoting full-time employment.”
The design described in this particular case study seeks to assess the effectiveness of a new vocational rehabilitation program for recently paroled prison inmates (Plummer, Makris and Brocksen, 201, p. 63). In order to evaluate this program, the evaluators implemented a quasi-experimental research design. In this design, participants are not randomly assigned to conditions or orders of conditions (Price et al., 2016). Ultimately, quasi-experimental research involves the manipulation of an independent variable without the random assignments of participants to conditions or orders of conditions (Price et al., 2016). It seems that this design is specifically more of a “nonequivalent” design. As they have two subject groups essentially, those 30 who are able to immediately participate in the program (“intervention” group) and the other 30 who are on the wait list (“comparison” group).
Based on the data presented, it seems that there may be some statistically significant relation between the independent variable (vocational rehabilitation intervention) and the dependent variable (employment). It’s important to note the use of “may” in “the vocational rehabilitation intervention program may be effective at promoting full-time employment…”. It is nearly impossible to “prove” a cause and effect relationship in regards to research in the social work field, due to humanistic components of the studies, and other aspects that may be out of the control of the researcher.
The researchers were able to include the outcome .

Post an evaluation of the evidence-based practice that you selected for Jake. Describe the practice and evidence supporting it.
The evidence-based practice that I chose for Jake was Yoga Practice. The study was done on one participant, and it focused on the effects of yoga practice on brain function as well as PTSD symptoms. The practice of yoga was done over an eight week period and documented the improvements of the individual along the way (Yoga, 2015). The evidence that supports this practice is the participant had improved in several categories such as, anxiety levels, PTSD symptoms, abilities to focus, as well as multitasking skills (Yoga, 2015). It also made the individual participating in the study feel less angry and frustrated than he did at the beginning of his recovery process. He also attributed his success to the Yoga Practice and is now more comfortable practicing yoga (Yoga, 2015).
Explain why you think this intervention is appropriate for Jake.
I believe Yoga practice will offer positive effects for Jake for a number of reasons.
The first being that Jake and the participant share some of the same symptoms from PTSD. So, the idea would be to focus on mindfulness and see if this practice is compatible with Jake. Anoth.

post your explanation of which group research design and data collection method from those outlined in the Resources you selected as appropriate for the “Social Work Research: Planning a Program Evaluation” case study and why.
For this assignment, I have chosen the Time-Series Design. I chose this design as it is still a quasi-experimental design but also has several pre-test and post-test outcome measures. It involves obtaining several client outcome measures before the introduction of intervention and several additional measures after the intervention has been implemented (Dudley, 2014). One benefit of this design is the data trends can help determine the extent to which the intervention, as opposed to external outside factors is the “causal agent” (Dudley, 2014).
Then, generate criteria to be measured using the research design by identifying a specific outcome and a method for measuring that outcome. Specify who will collect the data and how the data will be collected.
By using a single system design (SSD) as an evaluation tool to measure whether there is a causal relationship between the practitioner’s intervention and a client’s outcome then adjustments to treatment delivery can be made intermittently prior to termination of services. SSD can be used for either an individual, a family, o.

The Characteristics of the evidence-based practice (EBP)
The evidence-based program is defined as the programs that are effective and this is based on the rigorous assessment. One of the key features of EBP is that they have been assessed thoroughly in an experimental or quasi-experimental study. The evaluation of the EBP has been subjected to critical peer review and this implies that a conclusion has been reached by the evaluation experts. The EBP requires the ability to differentiate between the unverified opinions concerning the psychosocial interventions and the facts about their effectiveness. It is involving the process of inquiry that is provided to the practitioners and described for the physicians. This is important in integrating the best evidence, clinical expertise, and patient values as well as the situations that are linked to the management of the patient, management of the practice, and health policy decision-making processes (Small & O'Connor, 2007).
The assessment of the factors that are supporting or impeding the adoption of the evidence-based practice
Several factors are associated with the failure to the successful adoption of EBP. The implementation of EBP for example in healthcare facilities requires the dedication of time. Therefore, lack of adequate time for the training and implementation of the EBP makes it hard to adopt it within the facility. The adoption of evidence-based practice also requires adequate resources. This, therefore, implies that there must be adequate resources to facilitate the effective implementation and the adoption of the EBP. This, therefore, implies that smaller organizations with unstable capital income might not adopt the EBP. Another barrier is the inability to understand the statistical terms or the jargons used in the EBP. This leads to barriers in understanding thus making it hard to implement the EBP (Duncombe, 2018). Therefore, the factors that might support the implementation of the EBP are the availability of resources and adequate time.

SOCW 6311 Week 3 Discussion Choosing and Using Single-System De.docxsamuel699872
SOCW 6311 Week 3 Discussion: Choosing and Using Single-System Design
Many people receive their first introduction to the scientific method in their early school years. The first experiments which students undertake typically involve plants, chemicals, or small animals in a tightly controlled experimental environment. These experiments enable students to establish a relatively clear cause-and-effect relationship between the outcome of the experiment and the manipulation of the variables.
As soon as a researcher introduces a human element, proving a cause and effect relationship becomes more difficult—as the researcher cannot enact total control of another person even in an experimental environment. Social workers serve clients in highly complex real-world environments. Clients often implement recommended interventions outside of social workers’ direct observation. Yet, evidence-based research calls for social workers to establish cause-and-effect relations between selected interventions and client outcomes as much possible. To meet this challenge, social workers must understand the study designs available to them and all of the variations of that design that can increase the rigor of the experiment and improve the likelihood of verifying a cause-and-effect relationship.
In this week’s case study, you decide whether the social worker in the case study has appropriately chosen a single-system (subject) design and implemented it in such a way that it can be considered an appropriate example of evidence-based research.
To prepare for this Discussion, read the case study Social Work Research: Single Subject and criteria for using single-system (subject) designs as evidence of effective practices in this week’s resources. Consider whether the study design described in the case study will serve the purpose of evaluating the program’s practice approach (case management with solution-focused and task-centered approaches). Consider whether these approaches are well suited to evaluation by the types of measurement used in the study. Consider to what objective measurement the numerical scales used to measure problem-change and task completion corresponds. Consider what new knowledge and evidence for the efficacy of the treatment approaches Chris has generated with her study.
Provide a 300-word Discussion Post:
- An evaluation of the proposed study design described in the case study below.
- Explain whether the outcome of Chris’ study with her client George would lead you to adopt the model of case management with solution-focused and task-centered approaches, and substantiate your choice.
- Provide recommendations for improvements should Chris and her colleagues wish to submit the study to the evidence-based practice registry. Include rationale for your recommendations.

Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse can have a devastating impact on a child and his or her family members. Social workers need to understand how to recognize and respond to cases of abuse expertly and efficiently. With an empathetic and helpful social worker, victims/survivors of abuse can take their first step onto the long road toward healing. For this Assignment, read the case study Working With Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Trauma: The Case of Brandon and then consider what you would do if you were a social worker and had to report a parent of suspected child abuse.

Submit
a 3- to 4-page paper in which you review the approach taken by the social worker in Brandon’s case. Identify how the social worker might have used the ecological model to understand Brandon’s situation based on a person-in-environment perspective. Explain the use of the ecological model in this case on micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Describe strengths the social worker may have missed in assessing Brandon and his mother. Review the challenges that the social worker identifies and explain the impact the abuse could have had on Brandon had his strengths not been identified and addressed. SOCW 6210 Week 7. Discussion Psychological Aspects of AgingWee.docxsamuel699872
SOCW 6210 Week 7. Discussion: Psychological Aspects of Aging
Week 7: Psychological Aspects of Later Adulthood
Individuals in later adulthood address developmental tasks that are unique to their life-span phase, and many of these tasks "are psychological in nature" (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2016, p. 657). Many aspects of living as an older adult may differ significantly from what an individual experienced in an earlier phase of his or her life-span. For example, changes in older individuals' income, living arrangements, social connections, and physical strength may influence how they view themselves, interact with others, and think about their futures.
This week, as we explore the psychological aspects of later adulthood, we consider theories of successful aging and their application to social work practice. We also consider how you might apply models of grieving to support families in a hospice environment when an aging family member approaches death.
Theories of successful aging explain factors that support individuals as they grow old, contributing to their ability to function. Increasing your understanding of factors that support successful aging improves the ability to address the needs of elderly clients and their families.
To prepare for this Discussion, review this week's media. In addition, select a theory of successful aging to apply to Sara's case.
Post a Discussion in which you:
· Explain key life events that have influenced Sara's relationships. Be sure to substantiate what makes them key in your perspective.
· Explain how you, as Sara's social worker, might apply a theory of successful aging to her case. Be sure to provide support for your strategy.
Proper English with no run-on sentences is an absolute requirement!
The paper must contain 3 references and citations. Use the following resources for the references and citations. At a minimum, be sure to reference Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman and Plummer.

SR’s post states the following:Top of Form
As a group, LGBT older adults experience unique economic and health disparities. LGBT older adults may disproportionately be affected by poverty and physical and mental health conditions due to a lifetime of unique stressors associated with being a minority and may be more vulnerable to neglect and mistreatment in aging care facilities (American, 2019). In the case of Francine (Plummer, 2014) she is a 70-year-old Catholic woman, who personally identifies as a lesbian. She never felt comfortable actually “coming out” due to the environment she grew up in. Both in the era, she grew up in and the strict Catholic belief she was raised in is against homosexual nature she felt it wasn’t appropriate to discuss. As she got older and experienced the loss of her partner, she felt those who cared about her felt she should not mourn her loss so hard. It could have been due to her never admitting who her partner really was, or the common mindset of those around her. It could affect how she viewed her life and what she should do as an older adult in her sexual life.
Environmental factors influence the aging process. Being physically and mentally active tends to slow down the aging process. Inactivity speeds it up. A positive outlook (positive thinking) tends to slow down the aging process. Insecurity, the lack of someone to talk to, negative thinking, and being in a strange environment tend to accelerate the aging process (Zastrow, 2016). In Francine’s case, the loss of her loved one and retirement has affected her outlook. She feels sad and isolated, it has taken its toll and that can progress the effects of ages. Once she gained a support system she was able to increase her activity and her mental stability changed.
As a worker, I would use the understanding that environmental factors and personal views can affect a client and manifest as an aging process. I would help Francine by using cognitive reasoning to help her accept her life and make changes that make her happy. While morning her loved one is appropriate, helping herself is as well.
The notion that there is a general intellectual decline in old age is largely incorrect. Most intellectual abilities hold up well with age. While older people show a decline in performance on IQ tests, their actual intellectual competence may not be declining (Zastrow, 2016). A strategy I might use in applying my knowledge of the aging process in social work practice.

Discussion 2: Bullying: Cycle of Events
Bearing witness to trauma has its own set of consequences. Watching repeated episodes of bullying can evoke strong emotional and behavioral responses from an adolescent. During the impressionable stage of social development in adolescents, these experiences can contribute to a change in perception about the ways people should and do treat each other. Furthermore, ongoing exposure to this behavior can jeopardize an adolescent’s healthy social development. For this Discussion, consider how the act of bullying experienced by one adolescent may change the experience of another who witnesses it.

Since one area often affects the other two, it is important to get as accurate an assessment as possible when working with a client. Social workers use the bio-psycho-social tool to communicate specific information, and possible conclusions, about a client to other professionals. It is, at once, a summary of current issues and problems; a listing of past factors that may be relevant to the current situation; and a description of potential issues that may have an effect on the client in the future. In addition to describing the client’s challenges and problems, the assessment identifies strengths and assets that are available to provide support. For this Project you create a bio-psycho-social assessment.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Problem
Iris a 78-year-old divorced lady who lives alone and relies on a
pension from the pace she used to work as an elementary
teacher and the social security retirement benefits. Two years
2. ago her husband divorced her for a younger woman and Iris was
not blessed with any child. Iris is forgetful, old, and in need of
someone to talk to despite claiming to be independent. Iris is
also going through depression because of being divorced by her
husband abruptly in the last two years and also because she
misses her independence because she now needs to stay in a
facility that can provide care for her as it gets harder for her to
take care of herself. This paper will look into a policy that can
help Iris control and take care of herself.
Solution
One of the ways of helping Iris is to provide a way in which she
can have company. A policy that will provide or extend the
civic engagement of adults will go a long way into helping Iris
to extend her stay at the facility she was sent to. This policy
should help improve her wellbeing because she feels loneliness
because Iris is still dealing with the divorce, she went through
which happened abruptly without warning. Policymakers should
ensure this is considered so as to give her and other older
people at the center time to heal and focus on their health rather
than missing home (Zarbo, et al, 2017). The policy should also
focus on restructuring health care systems so that those who
receive low pensions and retirement benefits can get something
3. that will help them receive proper medical aid. The medical care
system should search for ways to increase financial incentives
especially for those from low-income families so that they can
be able to access medical aid that encompasses a variety of
medications. For instance, Iris cannot use the money she gets as
a pension to pay for all her medical bills as well as the bills
waiting for her at home because she obviously left a house when
she got in a accident. This would be very helpful in solving her
medical care bills.
This policy should also cover for Iris to remain at the facility
forever. She should be given choices or options in which she
can choose from. For instance, she can be asked whether she
would go home to live alone or stay at the facility to get help
giving her the pros and cons. As a smart woman, Iris should
trade her independence and wish to go home for the health and
social benefits that she would get with staying at the facility.
Finding the best solution in this context to keep Iris safe and
healthy is better than letting her go back to her house and
wallow in depression and not get the care and help she is in
need of. Therefore, the trade-off here is telling Iris the
consequences she is to face once she goes back home, letting
her weigh the benefits and consequences of leaving and staying
at-home care. The overall purpose of policies is not to find the
optimal solution but the best solution that can work in favor of
4. all participants (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering,
and Medicine, 2018)
Conclusion
In conclusion, Iris is facing depression that is affecting her
judgment and the activeness of the mind. She needs a
distraction that can help forget the messy abrupt divorce that
her ex-husband made her go through. She is also lonely because
she has no children and is facing financial challenges. The
medical care policy can positively impact Iris's life by paying
her medical bills at the home care visits from people who love
her should help cheer her up.

RE: Discussion - Week 6
COLLAPSE
Respond to a colleague who selected a different case from yours
with another approach to address the identified problem. What
is the responsibility of the social workers working with Jose
and/or Iris to advocate for a change in the social policy?
Hello Summerlove,
In the case of Iris, I would suggest allowing her to stay in her
own home with a caregiver. I would find out about Medicare
insurance for her and sign her up for social security income. As
a policy advocate, I would do research housing and insurance
for this client. I would prepare a policy proposal based on
6. housing need for elderly care. This place would be like a group
home but a duplex for two residents with caregivers. I believe
addressing this housing issues will help this client regain her
independence and help her to feel better about herself. The
evolution of the Federal Shelter Program proposal demonstrates
that effective policy advocates combine analytic skills in
identifying, comparing, and selecting policy options with other
policy practice skills (Jansson, 2018). Social workers respect
and promote the right of clients to self-determination and assist
clients in their efforts to identify and clarify their goals
(NASW, 2017).

RE: Discussion - Week 6
Summerlove,
As social workers, we have to advocate for the community and
our clients but lobbying, signing petitions, and encouraging
change. Having a solid plan and educating the client, her
family, and the community on what is needed to see these policy
changes is imperative.
