Natural Resources: Useful material that occurs in
nature. It cannot be made by man.
Human Resources: Workers who produce goods
and provide services.
Capital Resources: Machines, tools, and
buildings that are used to produce goods and
services.

Producer -
A person or business that makes things
Examples: Apple, IBM, Farmers, Toyota
Consumer -
A person who uses or buys goods and services
Examples: EVERYONE! :)

10. Caring for Our Resources
Our resources - Natural, Human, & Capital - are
LIMITED (only certain amount). We need to take
care of them.
How?
Recycle - Don’t just throw it away
Reuse - Use it more than once or twice
Replant - Plant trees and flowers to make the environment better
Conserve - Use only what you need

11. Where are goods made?
Some goods are made locally, here in California.
Grapes, cotton, almonds, tomatoes, milk, and eggs
Some goods are made in other places around the
country or other countries.
Potatoes - Idaho
Maple Syrup - Vermont
Apples - Washington
Cheese - France
Bananas - Costa Rica

12. Producing and Trading
Every state can produce something but CAN’T produce
some other items
When a place CAN’T produce something, they get it
from other places.
When we BRING products INTO California for
consumers, we IMPORT them.
IMPORT cars from Japan
When we SENT products OUT to another place, we
EXPORT them
