On Monday 26th October 2009 Mark Ellis delivered a workshop at peckham Library in south London on Social Media: Maximising your Impact. The session was organised by the Media Trust as part of the Learning Revolution Festival.
Hi my fellow learners,
This is my presentation for the chapter Social Networking of IT or Computer. The presentation is well made with helpful information and structure. If you are satisfied by the presentation, make sure to leave a like and comment so I can be inspired to keeping uploading such content.
You're Amazing!!!
Thank you!!
In his "Essay on Criticism," Alexander Pope famously wrote, “To err is human," which would be great if most organizations didn't expect us to rise above our humanity in our work. In fact, we are very human and we make faux pas, blunders and gaffes every single day of our lives. Most are small and inconsequential, while others are large and impactful. The upside--regardless of the mistake's size--is an opportunity to learn. There are nuggets of knowledge within our missteps and failures that can help us grow, do and be better and gain immeasurable wisdom.
Project managers plan, execute, oversee and finalize a team's work and it requires a unique set of skills to lead a team from the conception to the close-out of a project. While "hard skills," such as time management and budgeting are important, the most successful project managers have also mastered a number of "soft skills," such as empathy, enthusiasm and integrity.
Time is an elusive beotch. Some days we think we have it under control, then other days it seems to get away from us. Eventually we realize we never had control of it. The best we can hope for is management of it, making sure we make the most of the time allotted. These 12 tips--planning, prioritizing, focusing, delegating and relaxing--will help you manage your time and not let time manage you.
Many people mistakenly believe that project management is only for very large, highly complex, multi-year 7-figure projects. The principles of project management are time-tested and indispensable to leading projects of any size. You can use the principles to plan a child's birthday party, a two-day conference or retooling the IT of your organization.
These are helpful tips and reminders for project managers. So often we treat all projects the same, and while the basics of project management don't change, each project is different. Every project has a unique set of goals, deliverables and stakeholders that require managers to bring advanced leadership and communications skills to the team.
Do you find yourself procrastinating often?
Have you told yourself you work better under pressure?
Has procrastination caused undo stress in your professional and personal life?
Do you want to procrastinate less?
Procrastination is one of the biggest obstacles to achievement. Most procrastinators have a pattern (aka loop of doom) when they procrastinate, from the moment they decide to not do something to eventually getting it done.
All myth, legend, folklore and even old-wives tales have some semblance of truth in them. Over time, the truth has become watered-down and people have added or subtracted details to make the story more interesting. And in the end, it is the enhanced version with which we are left.
Social media is no different. If only marketing was a simple as talking to the Universe. Alas, marketing takes work and social media marketing takes a lot of work. It is more than setting up a blog, updating your Facebook status and tweeting your organization's latest news. Doing these few activities is only the beginning to truly delving into social marketing. These myths and truths will help you and your organizations "get it." Remember, the your marketing goal, develop relationships with your customers as a way to solidify brand loyalty.
When it comes to social media, it is the conversation that matters. Not the diatribe, though it can be interesting, not the rant, though it can be entertaining and not even the meme, though it can be wickedly funny. A conversation requires at least two parties, who share-listen-respond-listen-share, respond-listen-and so on, and so on, and so on. There is back and forth and give and take. If you're doing most of the typing, you have to ask yourself is it a conversation or monologue?

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
