 Cyber-bullying occurs when the victim is
tormented, harassed or embarrassed using
the internet, or other technology

 About 33% of teens are victims of cyber-
bullying
 66% of teens have reported when they saw
the harassment online, others joined in
 Over 14% of high school aged people have
considered suicide and being bullied makes

5. What are the effects?
 Continuous bullying, even at home
 Suicides among young people
 Depression among young people

 Social Networking sites make cyber-bullying
easier and more prevalent, as do mobile

11. Who can improve the situation?
 Schools can hold anti-bullying events in
which they discourage online bullying
 Parents can restrict internet usage and
ensure their children are neither bullies nor
victims.
 Teens can discourage online bullying by
standing up for victims, etc.
 Lawmakers can make online threats a
serious offense
