The document outlines a documentary project about domestic violence for both genders. It will define domestic violence, identify signs, and provide information about support services available in the local community and nationally. The documentary will include interviews with charities and centers that help victims, and provide their contact information. It will also include reconstructions of domestic violence incidents. The target audience is those aged 13-24, but also older audiences. Statistics about domestic abuse prevalence from official crime reports and studies of young people ages 13-17 will be presented. No budget is needed as the filmmaker will borrow equipment from school and not incur travel or hiring costs. Five peers will help with reconstructions and production.

My production is going to about domestic violence for both genders. The documentary is going to be informative covering
topics such as:
• What is domestic violence
• How to identify domestic violence
• The help available to victims to end domestic violence.
I will conduct interviews with charities and specialist centers within the local community that offer help for victims of
domestic violence. The interviews will be about the support and how victims can get in contact with these people. I will
also include the contact information of these charities in the local community such as:
• Victim Support in Camden
• Camden Safety Net
National charities:
• Refuge
• Respect
• During my documentary, I will include reconstructions of domestic violence incidents; this is so I can give the
audience an idea of what happens within domestic violence.

3. TARGET AUDIENCE
My target audience for my documentary is 13-24 but I hope to aspire and appeal to an older
audience as well as a younger audience. Although my main focus is not on an older audience,
they may also be interested in the support available and the signs of domestic violence.
Considering the age differences between 13-21 is there experiences and the relationship
they’ve had, my documentery is to raise awareness, identify the signs and help available.

Official Crime Statistics
• An estimated 1.4 million women and 700,000 men have suffered domestic abuse in the
last year
• 4.9 million women, or 28%, and 2.4 million men, or nearly 15%, have experienced some
form of domestic abuse since the age of 16.
NSPCC and University of Bristol study of young people ages between 13-17
• 33% of girls and 16% of boys reported some form of sexual abuse
• 25% of girls (same proportion as adult women) and 18% of boys reported some form of
physical relationship abuse
• Around 75% of girls and 50% of boys reported some form of emotional relationship abuse
