2. What we have done
• Engaged a web design company and secured pro
bono support for our website:
www.teamkenya.org.uk
• Developed a team of volunteers to blog, write
content and manage social media:
https://www.facebook.com/teamkenyauk?fref=ts
• Recruited a marketing agency to provide pro
bono support – videos and

5. Prioritising marketing
• To help us reach new audiences
• To engage existing donors
• Raise awareness of our work
• To build confidence and credibility for
individuals, trusts and foundations and
businesses
6. Achievements
• Year on year growth of income and impact
• Taking on our first member of staff
• Building our relationships with pro bono
partners, leading to Mount Kenya and
Kilimanjaro climbs and corporate adoptions
• Increase in social media engagement
• Donors and volunteers making cold
approaches through our website
7. Learning
• Small charities can have a big impact with the
right support
• If you have clear objectives and quality
volunteers it does not have to be too time
consuming
• You don’t need to spend a lot of money to
increase your reach
• Nobody knows how small you are if you get it
right
